I went to the Saturday and Sunday games. Jake Meyers was untouchable for four innings on Sunday -- great command of his pitches, throwing strikes, just a terrific outing. He started to tire a bit in the fifth, walked a guy, threw a lot of balls, so I was a little bit surprised when he came back out for the sixth. He got hit hard in the sixth, when Indiana scored its only run. Perhaps should have gone to the bullpen an inning sooner.
I am a long-ago baseball player who follows the game closely, and I like this team. They're tough-minded, always play hard, hitting is coming around. I like coach Erstad and his staff. Hoping for big things from the Huskers this year.
