But I've repeatedly been hammered when I bring this topic up, on here and in conversation with other fans. JUCO's are loaded with players that can easily come in and contribute, yet we hardly ever recruit them.
Once asked a MSU baseball coach about a guy I played with. He went JUCO and was an All American. Drafted out of high school and each of his first 3 years of college. Nasty curve to complement a 95 MPH fastball. Oh and a lefty. MSU coach at the time (during the Polk 2.0 days) said "Who's that?". Well who's that is now a middle reliever specialist in the bigs, yet our coaching staff didn't have a clue the guy even existed. He's from MS also. I've always questioned our recruiting process and wonder if there is really much recruiting ever done. Seen a lot of players from MS, that wanted to go to State, never get a look from State, and some went to other DI schools or on to professional ranks.
