Will we ever play them again? I think it would be neat once in a while.
Oh you mean cut blocking like Nebraska was known for under Osborne?Playing the service academies is stupid. Sure there is the patriotic spin to it but all three employ cut blocking schemes in order to make up for lack of size. You are putting your front seven at risk by playing them for a win nobody will remember.
Not a NU fan so explain your point to me...is it if you are guilty of doing something it makes it acceptable for others to do it also?Oh you mean cut blocking like Nebraska was known for under Osborne?
Why do you use the word "guilty"? A team can cut block all game and not get flagged. So what are they "guilty" of?Not a NU fan so explain your point to me...is it if you are guilty of doing something it makes it acceptable for others to do it also?
LOL...stop arguing just to argue. The NFL just passed a rule, this year, to define this saying a cut block and chop block (already illegal both in the NFL and CFB) are the same thing. You sound out of touch and stupid. The basic concept is going after a player's knees is a bad and an unethical thing. So stop arguing just to argue. Why do you use the word "guilty"? Not an NU fan on any level? Then why are you here all the time? Not a NU fan so explain your point to me...is it if you are guilty of doing something it makes it acceptable for others to do it also?

Cut blocking is legal in college football.LOL...stop arguing just to argue. 1) We ain't talking bout the NFL. (But saying the NFL has made ALL cut blocking illegal is flat out wrong)LOL...stop arguing just to argue. I'm here because I like to get to know what is happening with other B10 teams...especially when we have recruits in common which my school (Michigan) and yours have a few this year. Not an NU fan on any level? Then why are you here all the time?
And no, I don't approve of cut blocks, whether they are legal or not. I was just trying to say that there would be some historical irony in Nebraska refusing to play someone because they cut block.
I was out of line on saying you sounded stupid and out of touch...my apologies for that1) We ain't talking bout the NFL. (But saying the NFL has made ALL cut blocking illegal is flat out wrong)
2) We ain't talking bout chop blocks. (High-low is illegal)
3) Calling me names? And I'm the one arguing?
4) You play to WIN THE GAME. So if I'm the coach of a team, Im going to do everything within the rules to win. And cut blocking IS NOT ILLEGAL. (Even in the NFL, watch a Seattle or Denver game or any team that employs zone blocking and you will still see a cut block on many plays)
Sure but that doesn't mean you have to line up to play teams (ooc) that are known for it. That was my response to the original question...you shouldn't want to play the services academies because you are basically asking for a season ending injury to a front 7 player or twoCut blocking is legal in college football.

No..."asking for it" is an expression that doesn't necessarily mean it will happen...just that it could. And before you say that could happen in any game against any team...sure...but the prevalence of it happening because of chop blocks is way higher than without them.So your contention is that every opponent a service academy plays loses 1-2 players per game?
No need to play Army, Navy or Air Force, I am just questioning the fact that those teams end the season of 36-72 DLinemen each year.
But a cut block isn't the same as a chop block. It's like saying a motorcycle is a car.No..."asking for it" is an expression that doesn't necessarily mean it will happen...just that it could. The NFL now disagrees with you...wouldn't surprise me if the NCAA follows...and a better analogy would be a motorcycle to whatever a you call those motorcycles with 3 wheels...just variations of something that essentially does the same thingBut a cut block isn't the same as a chop block. I think you need to go do some reading on what exactly the new NFL rule is. I think you oversell your position that all cut blocking is banned. The NFL now disagrees with you...wouldn't surprise me if the NCAA follows...and a better analogy would be a motorcycle to whatever a you call those motorcycles with 3 wheels...just variations of something that essentially does the same thing
Beat me to it. The NFL has NOT banned cut blocks at the point of attack along the line of scrimmage. Those blocks are STILL LEGALI think you need to go do some reading on what exactly the new NFL rule is. I think you oversell your position that all cut blocking is banned.
