Meanwhile, the lesson I'm taking from this is that it's time to expand to 96 teams. The committee came within a whisker of leaving out a Final 4 team.

VCU has caught fire. Their resume warranted them being very much on the bubble. The committee would never have known from the results of their regular season that they were capable of rolling off 5 in a row against very stiff competition. And I imagine a big part of what motivated them in the early rounds was Jay Bilas trashing them.

trashing my bracket's last hope? Tempting, but no. Even if the resume says they were a bubble team, that says to me that the bubble teams can hang with the big boys. Therefore, time to expand the dance. Ditch the NIT and let's go 96'ing.
