Our fans are a bunch of redneck stereotypes. Where are our proud alumni? It is pathetic to stand up and cheer or write on a message board about how wonderful it is that our coach just got fired. Is that something to be proud of, we are better than that. Do we have to fire our coach just because Ole MIss did? Something just isn't there with this squad. You can claim Croom was unprepared, but our players should have been up for this game no matter who coached them. They care about this game more than in any other game all year, especially when it can hinder Ole Miss's bowl opportunities. They just didn't show up, is our talent level that low? You cannot blaim that performance on coaching alone. Hello, jack-asses, I went to the game. Just watching a severe beat down in the only game we care about all year is nothing to cheer about no matter who our coach is or is not. When will it get better? We give another coach 5 years and fire him after an extension? Croom needed more time and we fired him solely because of this loss? No our AD said it was the entire body of work. We didnt seem to mind the failed early years after last year until the end of this season. I just see the progam in shambles and the fan base as fickle. We sent the message with Croom that you better have success but we will turn on you the second you lose to Ole Miss.

How does being happy that a coach in over his head is gone make us red neck stereotypes? How does wanting the best for our university make us redneck stereotypes?

Assuming this is real, which I doubt, but if so people like you are the problem with this school. We didnt fire Croom because Ole Miss fired their coach, we fired him because he sucks. And while Ole Miss might be the only game you care about, I tend to care about other 11 as well and we pretty much sucked in all of them. Now head on back to Gene's Page and go cry on Mrob's shoulder about the loss of reverend Croom. You will get nowhere over here

If so, let me make this clear. You were a complete nightmare for 5 years. Please leave us alone and get out of our lives.

So you won't admit you had alot of faith in the man after last season. You realize the university you are so proud of as am I hired him. You dont think much of their decisions?

we should have given crooms a 40 year contract extension after the ole miss game. after all, he did inherit a mess of a program and it takes time to win i mean yeah, you have these coaches that come in and can win in a year or two, but they just aren't doing things the right way. on top of that, coach croom is such a great man of character compared to all the other coaches in the world. the other coaches just don't know how to do things the right way, to sum it up. MAROOOOOOON! i just don't think i can be a fan of a team that wins and doesn't do things the right way!!

My university has made many mistakes over the years, only one of which was giving Croom an extension and raise. Thankfully though, that's one we don't have to live with any longer.

"We sent the message with Croom that you better have success but we will turn on you the second you lose to Ole Miss."

Really? We lost to Ole Miss in a game we didn't bother showing up for in 2004 to end a 3-8 season and we didn't fire him. We lost to an Ed Orgeron coached Ole Miss team in 2006 to end a 3-9 season, taking Croom's coaching record to 9-25, and we didn't fire him. Croom is gone because his 5 year record is 21-38, an average of 4-7, and he failed to build off a good season, the SEC West being weaker than in previous years, and a favorable schedule but instead returned to the 3-4 win plateau. The Egg Bowl was either the last straw or an event that made getting rid of him easier, but the body of work combined with his failure to get the fanbase behind him eventually got him fired. Had he been retained, he would have cost us a lot of money next year in ticket sales.

and looks to be even lower next year. Would love to be wrong, but those really weak recruiting classes of 3 to 4 years appear to be coming home to roost. And Byrne is a smart enough guy to see this as well.

Hey guess what? He's not the coach anymore. And I'm happy about that.
Does that make you mad? I bet it does... I bet you're fuming over on your little keyboard right now.... get mad, little baby...get mad!

Most of us were cautiously optimistic. We won with smoke and mirrors and this year it showed.

You realize the university you are so proud of as am I hired him. You dont think much of their decisions?
LT hired him and NO, I don't think much of his decisions.

Don't you.
We would have been pissing away millions if we would have kept Croom due to lack of ticket sales and donations. I am guessing we will make that money up fairly easy

3/10 .... nice effort, but you said too much for it to be believable. try something more along the lines of :

"Croom was fired because he was black"

and follow it up with quotes from MLK, Jr.

Judge me not by the color of my skin, but the content of my coaching record.

...any State fan who is taking up for Croom at this juncture is the pure embodiment of an ignorant redneck.

Here's an experiment for you:

1) Write down Croom's overall record @MSU.

2) Find somebody who knows absolutely nothing about football (not counting yourself, of course; thinking more like your grandmother) & show them Croom's record.

3) Then ask that person should this specific football coach get fired with this record.

4) Come back here & report what that person who knows nothing about football told you.

5) Confess to the board the incredible irony of you calling us redneck stereotypes.

I wouldn't trade a loss to Bama for a win against anyone. I want our program to run the table the rest of the way. I dont want to suffer through losses so we can fire our coach. We need to stick it out with Croom. I promise you anti Croom jack asses will change your tune after these victories coming down the stretch

How'd that work out for you?

we were 4 plays.......4 P L A Y S ...............4 defensive plays at that....away from being 4-8

I knew it, and most people who know anything about football knew that.....it was great, but not enough to get on board with...
