That is the first time I've seen that. Couldn't see from our seats. What I got from that is that he got in and we were robbed. I looks to me like he had the ball tucked in at his chest and that from his waist up was in the end zone.</p>

First time I've seen the replay. I had come to terms with what happenend, but now I want to vomit. 3rd down play - great call, poor pass. 4th down play - I couldn't tell if somebody was holding his arms down or not, but all TL had to do was stick his arms out. Screw the option out, he had the space and the push. Just extend those wee arms, Tyson.

Edit: Good analysis on the 2nd down play.

Great insight into that play by the way. Looking at it again. It looks like the LT tracks for the MLB. He makes a good block on that guy and knocks him out of the play. The thing that sticks out to me is the FB not making the block on the OLB. The FB seeminly jogs into the hole and the left side LB comes over and shoves him backwards and makes the play on Dixon. Along with that bastard Jones (#3).

Dixon did a great job avoiding that Dlineman knifing in there.

Edit again to say: The FB was slowed down going into the hole because he chiped the DL. Which probably kept the DL from making the play in the back field. So, looking at it again, the FB was slowed and off balance by the chip block when he might the LB.

he was blown up.

i also noticed that on the fourth down play, sherrod's first move to his left knocked cook (i think, TE 88) off balance. cook was going to block jones (who else), who ended up saving the TD. lee probably falls forward into the end zone if jones isn't there.

i completely understand why lee turned upfield. two lsu defenders crashed through the line in front of him. he has 2 options there - pitch or turn it up. i wish he would've pitched it (as we all do), but he had a seam, albeit small, and tried to make the play. i hate it for him that he didn't make the play - that game would have (and may still) defined his career at MSU.

i will add that dixon almost made the play on his own on 2nd down. he is running very well and looks as good as he ever has during his time in starkville.

The way it looks is that the LT is the only guy with a chance to block the 5. There is noway the tight end can get under him. The guard had to go down on the 1 tech and the center had a nose. Block the 1 down, kick out the 5 and 9 and then you have 2 RBs blocking with Dixon running down hill behind them.

That's the way it was explained to me.

I went back and watched the FIRST AND GOAL OVER AND OVER...Dixon <17>ed up severely...he runs RIGHT UP THE BACK of one of his lead blockers...which he is known for doing all the time...if you watch closely...the other FB #33 blows the LB backwards into the end zone on the right side...if Dixon keeps his head up he WALKS in on the right side...thus it ends there, but the second down play he does the same thing...he blast in and does not go to the hole...then...our boy Tyson Henig tries to dive into a small hole that was not there....Mullen will need to teach these goofs what following a block and taking what the defense gives you REALLY MEANS....I do not fault Mullen because he and the staff made great calls as I see it....what we all have to understand is...we STILL have kids that have the Crooms mentality at times...but it appears that is turning...maybe next time..Dixon, Lee, Relf and Ducre will LOOK for what the defense gives them and follow the play out to the end....not try and have to make something from nothing as Croom and McCorvey put them all in SOOO MANY TIMES BEFORE.....
