so we are very familiar with sidewalk fans. At times it seems that's the only kind. Since Huntsville is a science and engineering town, and since Alabama doesn't have much of an engineering school, most of the fans never went to school there.<div>
</div><div>Perhaps the best example I can think of is my golf group. There are about 15 in the group, and except for me, all are die-hard UAT fans. There are no Auburn fans. And of the 15, only one that I know of graduated, or even attended, Alabama. Most didn't even go to college, but of the ones who did there are graduates of UNA (or Florence State at the time he was there), UAH, UAB, Vandy, Colorado, and Michigan. The ones who didn't attend college seem to be the biggest Alabama nuts ... complete with wearing Alabama gear every time we play, and even a few Sun Mountain Alabama golf bags (one with rare houndstooth insets on the pockets ... or at least he says it's rare). I've even been told that I "should" be an Alabama fan since I live here. And I'm sure RCD has heard the same.</div><div>
</div><div>So can anyone wonder why we ... those of us who live and work in Alabama ... consider them the team we'd most like to beat? Ole Miss is way down the list and at a level several orders of magnitude below beating Alabama.</div>
