It needs to be pointed out that for the second staff in a row, we're stuck complaining about a ridiculous buyout, and it being the primary reason we cant move on.

How much money did Ray waste with his hires/extensions.
Absolutely. Garbage hires and ridiculous contracts by Ray that have pushed back the football and baseball programs the last ten years.

Beamer's annual salary $8.15 mil.
10 assistant coaches $8.69 mil

total: $16.84 mil College football is big money.
Food for thought Virginia head coach: $4.4 mil team is 6-1
Ga Tech head coach $4.1 mil team is 7-0
Auburn head coach $6.7 mil team is 3-4
Florida head coach $7.4 mil team is 3-4

I guess money doesn't guarantee wins. Granted the ACC is an overall softer conference. But for $16.84 mil you would think there would be better overall results. And if you were wondering, Mike Shula $1.1 mil. .

Douchebag answer.

Anyone who has read my posts knows I do not have a positive view of Beamer, but I can see why he is a bit testy after the loss, However, venting your frustrations in your presser is never going to be a good look.
This program just looks and feels like it is fraying at all the seams. This pretense that everyone just needs to try/work harder sounds hollow at this point.

Agree. He sounds and acts just as immature and inexperienced as he did 5 years ago. He hasn't shed his cheerleader persona.

For reference, James Franklin made about $350k more than Beamer and he was fired after 11 seasons for a 3-game losing streak after winning 70% of his games and having PSU in the semis last season.

We need to worry less about slam dunks and hope for a bare minimum.

The guy cant have just been fired for gross incompetence, and the guy has to have actually been a head coach or even coordinator before.

I cant believe it, but our recent hiring has actually made those conditions need to be said.

Our recent (Muschamp/Beamer) hirings make me think that Larry David had a hand in them. It would have made a great storyline for the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" sitcom he had.

I know money doesn't guarantee results (see Texas A&M historically), but when these coaches command such high salaries it necessarily comes with high expectations. I don't care if we're just lowly USC or not. $8 million/yr is a lot of dough.

If we're not going to at least expect returns commensurate with the level of compensation being given, then we need to offer a coaching salary of $1 million and get who we can get. Why spend money like a major player when we really only expect mediocrity, at best?
