i wouldn't trade shaq for any of their current players, so i guess it'll be for picks and cash and maybe some expiring contracts. </p>

Shaq is not really what Cleveland needs. The Cavs need a point guard that they can count on or another scorer that can create their own shot. Shaq would just get in LeBron's way and he can't really go for much more than 30 minutes a game. Turkoglu for Orlando would be perfect in Cleveland.

i don't think the cavs will have the cash to be in that bidding war. plus, they really need a threat on the inside. ilgauskas and varejao aren't going to win you any NBA titles.

They do need an inside presence but I don't think Shaq is the answer for any type of long term success unless he restructures his contract drastically. I would like to see Charles Rhodes on the Cavs. He would have to be an upgrade over Varejeo.

and as far as the money, turkoglu will be a free agent, and i doubt that the magic would be interested in a sign and trade if they aren't going to resign him. the shaq deal is that the cavs could get rid of some overpriced players (wallace and pavlovic) who may be bought out of their current contracts (which would entice the suns). of course, cleveland could buy out those contracts and go after turkoglu, but they HAVE to have help in the post. plus, shaq's contract only has 1 year left (i think), so they have big time cash after that to keep lebron and/or get him more help if shaq retires.

i would be an upgrade over varejao.
