There was like an 80-100% chance for rain but about 30,000 fans showed up anyway, excellent. The pre-game drill was good if you had binoculars and could get a feel as to what was happening, it was something akin to the old "bull in the ring" drill. Also, during what seemed to be a dull moment during the game, a former player from the 90's comes out and teaches everyone how to properly do the "Dawg Pound Rock". Fantastic. On the down side, the pa announcer does not need to lead us in the maroom-white cheer for a spring game. It just doesn't work. Also, we need to turn the volumn down on the pre-game music. I was sitting on the other end of the stadium from the speakers and was getting blown away. Louder is not always better. Overall, the spring game was a good experience. </div> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table>

I can back that up personally and say when I stopped by Thursday night for the movie night it was painfully loud. Many of us had to leave because it was too loud. They should look into fixing the volume on them for future events.

...and it can be really loud, so I'm not surprised about comments concerning volume settings.

But at least they played BOTH kinds of music....Country *AND* hip-hop.

Seriously, the pre-game music needs some ***-kicking rock, not some redneck singing about his tractor.

If you sit in the chairbacks up near the last row on the west side, you can't hear the damn thing.

I almost hate to agree here. I like loud. I liked the cannon on the field. I like Thug music.

We had parked at the Hump and were walking towards the stadium when they started the pre-game music and it was loud as ****. I told my wife if it was that loud back there, I could not imagine how loud it was in the stadium. They eventually toned it down to a good level of loud but not painful. If they decide to cut that thing up to wide open, you will hear babies crying and glass breaking.

screw this country crap. How do you get pumped up with country twingy twang? As much as I detest rap, it at least gets you pumped up whether your pissed or enjoying the beat. Country music just takes the wind out of your sails. If they rocked out For Whom the Bell Tolls it would be crazy. Country music gets us 3 to 4 wins. Rap gets us 5 wins. Metallica=SEC Champions baby.

That is one thing about ole miss that i actually do like is they play new music loud over their PA system and it gets everybody in the stadium pumped up.... why do we have to have these people in our fan base?? the sad thing is they will cry and complain and probably get their way

but last year, when our no megatron was unveiled, our sound system almost blew people out of the stadium for the first couple of games before they figured out they needed to turn it down a little. I'm sure they'll get it straight, but I don't doubt it was loud. Again, wasn't there to know, though.

I don't mind if they play it loud enough to make me go deaf... I'm not going to complain about something that is really for the players more so than the fans anyway

I swear my life will be better if I never hear that again. I thought we were through with that song.... guess I was wrong.

Other than that, I thought the audio & video was fine.

....they played For Whom The Bell Tolls INCESSANTLY at West Virginia. I do not wish to have any part of our gameday experience mirror what they do.

"hard" nor "rock" about Nickelback. It's slightly edgy bubble gum pop on it's best day.

We are about to veer onto a NAFOOMesque track. What the hell, I'm up for it.

Isn't that the official "Give Up A 12 Yard pass play On 3rd and 11" song?

They sort of remind me of Nickelback and that would be a great reason to leave
If Nickelback reminds you of Metallica then the Hokey Pokey must remind you of Snoop Dogg. Lars Ulrich would shove a drumstick up your nose if he heard you say that.

a foot over their heads and encourage the people next to them to do the same ***** about the volume of the sound system?? Hey blue hairs... take out your hearing aid. that will make it tolerable to you.

I say crank it up and ring the damn bells until your ears bleed. Pump some excitement in the stadium.

No matter how stupid some of things that have been posted here are, they can never touch the complete and total idiocy of that first review of 2001.

Edit: For those who don't feel like clicking and reading the whole thing. After claiming that the opening of the movie with the early versions of man was actually the movie's guess at what the year 2001 would be like, the reviewer said this:

"I returned it shortly after that and rented Mortal-Kombat 2 which was way more realistic with better fighting."
