The all time greatest dynasty in high school sports Shelby Golden Lions travels to beautiful John Gamble Stadium to take on the Kings Mountain Mountaineers. Shelby is pretty much the runaway favorite for the 3A title and ranked #1. It’s a great opportunity for both teams to start their seasons off with a big win and great momentum. It’s some really good players on both sides, should be an exciting contest. Tough opener for both teams. The line of scrimmage and turnovers will decide the outcome. Looking forward to Friday!

If we wasn't probably going be short handed fri, I'd say Shelby wins..
But both rbs went down fri...jaylen Tate our big back is day to day.
J Williams org. From KM. Ankle maybe worse...
That puts us on depending on Freshman Jonas Brooks.
Like u said should be a great game 2 great defenses going after it.
Imo. Comes down to which Qb has a great nigjt

I would say Shelby but that running game is hurt right now which puts a lot of pressure on backups and the QB. I personally think Shelby still wins with experience at QB. Should be a good one.

This seems to be the best game close to me to go to, definitely headed to this one. Should be a good one and I give Shelby the upper hand.

Jonas Brooks named above... Remember than name, (Yall dont Crest, or KM or Ashbrook or Gaffney GIT) He will be a GREAT one much sooner
than later.....Size and Speed.....

For the game, gonna be a hard couple of weeks.... Either way 3a in trouble.... the end...

The loss of Williams on defense will really hurt more than the offensive side of the ball. I believe Williams is needed to help cover Tex on that side of the ball. KM’s receivers will be a handful.
It’s going to be tough to run on the KM front seven regardless of who is at running back.

Maybe a defensive game then, cause Shelby going get after that soph Qb...
Our best DE didnt play at GW..you going get a mixture of things thrown at him...
And if Jaylen Tate was Healthy, I'd beg to differ on him being stopped.
He's a load and can squat 550 legit..
His injury was a freak thing other night not by anyone. He ran over few guys on d line for Greer and they were big guys
Anyway good luck should be a good one

We were down 20-7 with a chance to make it a one score game before turning it over. With what he has on skill players and QB, I’ll take it against one of the best he’s had. His QB will have a huge year.

This should be a really good game. I really hope KM can win this game. The youth of this team worries me playing a solid Shelby team so early in the season. I will be there at John Gamble Stadium cheering on the mountaineers but if you told me to pick today I would give Shelby the advantage but no one can say that these Cleveland County teams play a weak schedule. #ClevelandCountyFootball

When has KM ever had a veteran team or a not young team , we have heard this KM is young for a decade
KM dbs will be the issue for KM
The city school by 2 scores

I'd like to know that too. Have they ever had a veteran team? Ever!

You're also correct the DB's are going to get worked out.

Shelby can't afford many injuries though. We counted like 32 players on the sidelines at Garner Webb.

I am not the one who has called us the young Mounties every year. We had a pretty Veteran team the last two years, and with losing 3 of our secondary players to the transfer portal it has caused our defense to be young and not deep this year. Also starting out a sophmore QB against a good Shelby team is a tough game for him to open up with. He will be good in the future but will take some lumps along the way

The GOLDEN Lions are already banged up at RB, if we only had a passing game we could lean on……. Should be a good game. KM will be motivated to see the REAL black n gold in John Gambler stadium.

1st play second half little pass to a completely uncovered receiver for a TD Km 9-7

I’ve been texting a bud entire game we are leaving a receiver uncovered exceptt by a safety twenty yards back every single play unless we’re in man

Surely to god someone can see that

Well we were In control and doing what we do running receivers forty yards down field and giving up pressure to a three man rush and fumble and KM has it 1st and goal!! We’re giving this game away … sheesh we do some crazy stuff sometimes

KM scores next play KM goes for two and up 17-14 9 ton play

3a still in trouble and we ain’t dead yet here
