Back to the game I watched the ER vs Shelby game and it seemed like in the second quarter ER defense basically gave in. ER put some pressure on Shelby QB but the 15 yard dump off passes turned into 60 yard gains. Shelby is not going to be stopped but they have to be slowed down. I don't think Shelby will have much success running on MA especially in the middle with #71 playing for bears.

You donāt get it our DBās and safety donāt get sucked in to stop the run. Our front 7 takes care of that. It takes two and sometimes three to block our nose defensive tackles and our new addition at defensive tackle this year is just as strong which allows our two defensive ends to cause all kinds of havoc. Theee has been many runners over the last four years thst thought they would run all over mount airy and did not happen. Tarboro is the best rushing team in the state and ask them how that went so trust me it will be the best defensive front you have seen. I know farmer gets to run a lot when the defensive line rushes up field but thst will be hard with the speed and toughness at linebackers. It is all words as I know but isnāt but four more days till you get to see yourself.
You had 3-4 D1 players on those defenses against Tarboro. How many this year?
3 but 1 is hurt. Last I heard #22 was offered by NC State.
No knock on Tarboro as they have a great team (and have over the last couple decades), but they are not the best rushing team in the state. Best in their classification, maybe...probably. In the state? Nope.
I watched some of the Shelby ER game on YouTube. Dang Farmer looks huge.

Another poster i responded to, said the same thing and after looking at a game and some footage of their defense, there is no way that will be the best front 7 Shelby has seen all year.
They have visions of grandeur. Making that statement alone tells me that they're all in their feelings. Obviously they have no clue who Shelby has played. If they had said best front 7 you've seen in conference play ..probably
But the best they've seen.............. Laughable.
Mt. Airy should come down off the hill and venture into Cleveland County in the regular season... It'll never happen.

Shelby played Crest to a 1 TD game, correct? MA beat East Wilkes by 7 (night they got banged up really bad losing Martin for a few weeks). Crest is ranked #25 in all classifications. MA is really really good, but this is not Corvian Community or East Wilkes or Starmount. And that's not a knock on any of those teams because they are good also. It's Shelby, and that is a different animal than the old 1A playoffs. MAHS has grown in ADM exponentially the last few years and this is the next challenge. Can MA compete and possibly win? Absolutely. Will this be the best defensive front 7 Shelby has seen all season? I would venture to say Shelby has seen better and that's saying something cause MA defensive front is absolutely elite for our area. Good luck to both teams.
Not all MA fans believe that statement. Thomasville a 6-6 team threw for 150 yards Friday night. Up front MA is good on D but not close to last 3 seasons before. Much respect to the Lions! I do think MA will make your earn it if......MA can play mistake free and hold down the penalties. Shelby has played some good teams but according to Simmons MA has also with #2 SOS. Shelby will not be best team MA has faced this season and neither will MA for Shelby. Just hope game is competitive! Go ahead and shout at the Mtns Shelby is coming....tic tic tic.... we get it! Just be thankful Crest isn't coming......... We'd beat MA like a hoe who didn't have all our money. You should see our front 7..................... You all don't have anything Shelby hasn't seen. I hope you put them in the grinder and take them to pound town personally....
But this has played out before. If they get you down by 14 plus and all that running has to go out the door. Then that usually spells doom. If your DB's can't cover and your front 7 doesn't get there enough.......DOOM! You must put Farmer on the run or on the ground and if not..........DOOM!

Can the bears score fast ? Thatās the questionā¦ Shelby will score and score a lot ā¦ but can Mt. Airy also score a lot ? If Mt. Airyās offense looks like the 2019 East Surry offense then I will say they have a good chance of beating Shelby but you are not beating Shelby or keeping it close just running the ball (I actually donāt know how good the passing attack is with Mt. Airy)

You don't want to score fast against Shelby. Score but run time off the clock. MA will run out of gas trying to run up and down the field. Farmer in rhythm is like a machine going down the field. Watching them against ER the center was snapping the ball every time waiste high and he was playing pitch and catch down the field.
Just trying to stir it up brother. Like my friend said MA thinks they got a chance when they donāt.
