Yalls back will have a good game,and yall will hang around a little while, but the overall depth and team speed will be too much. Yall have a couple out there with real speed , we have a team full.. 340 wont matter when hes sucking butter milk trying to get up and down the field from the offensive onslaught thats coming...I will say this 71, 22 are some grown men out there , hope they like running because its coming..

I've been watching 5A/6A from the past few weeks(in other states as mostly)
I watched a few games of both the kitties and Mt Hairy bear cubs yesterday.
One looks like JV All Stars, and the other looks like the midget 8 man all stars.
I'll let you figure out which is which.

Forget about the game. The real question is whether TD and Buzz can comingle at the game without being on the 11:00 news Friday night.

Let's talk football - what team has MA played since 2019 East Surry that can throw like this? Is the plan going to be rush 4 and drop 7? Are they going to play man (typically a man team for years)? Can MA consistently throw the ball if run game is slowed some? the weather looks rough Friday and I think a wet field would be in MA favor. thoughts?
The weather looks good, maybe some rain later. The Secret Service has Mount Airy's game plans in the suitcase with the nuclear codes.
I would say Watauga this year. I don't think Shelby offers anything they haven't seen this year, other than Shelby Lion's face staring at them from the stands. The depth of options in the passing game is the thing that will probably hurt. I would think they will count on there Dline to contain the run game. How many MA rushes I don't know. That will be a coaches decision, but the Dline has been enough to get pressure in most games this year. This game isn't exactly most games, so that's probably going to take some quick decision making and adjustment on the coaches to figure out the right path forward. From the video posted earlier, it looked like East Rutherford was playing a lot of zone and getting picked apart because of it. I think they will try man like they have most of the year, but that could lead to some big plays. MA can pass the ball, it's just not the main focus of their offense. They are much better and well rounded compared to last year. Run game is still their strength, but they will make their attempts passing.

Being that he is a good husband and Father, Iād feel guilty if something happened to him, So, Iāll have to alter his looks a little.

It is kind of hard to guess how MA will do vs Shelby. Some of the better competition that MA has played (Watauga and Jeff), they were without their best players and it got ugly quick. The other good team (Starmount) was missing two of their best players, plus MA has changed QBs and the offense has opened up a bit. I honestly have no idea what MA will look like against good competition that is close to full strength while also playing some of their own best football of the year. They are a bit of a mystery.
I think Deacs&Rams is on point here, and is probably where most of us are with it. Mount Airy is good, but for so many games they have had missing players and the offense is operating different with the QB change mid year, even the people that have watched all year have little to compare the current team too. The defense is very good against the run, but the pass defense has been an area where they have been vulnerable. So with Shelby having a strong pass attack, one can assume Shelby will get their yards in the air and Mount Airy will get theirs on the ground with Martin. That's why I think Mount Airy will need to control time of possession to win and get a turnover or two on a bad pass or deflected ball. It would help keep the defense fresh too. But it's not like either team is a one trick pony. It should be a good ballgame to watch, but has a chance to be lopsided

Shelby is showing 59 players on their roster, and Mount Airy shows 42. But Mount Airy is still showing 26 on JV, and Shelby is showing zero on JV. I am sure all JVs will dress out, and this is just numbers that may or may not have been updated.
Shelby will present itself like a 5a or 6a team by the shear numbers they have.
I remember being a kid watching Tarboro-Shelby in 1998 and me and my friends saw Shelby do the dog pile when they came outā¦.we started dog piling on each other in backyard football games after that.
