This came to me in a dream/nightmare last night. I wanted to put it down for a record, just in case I'm right.

I dreamt of a record breaking season for Mississippi State. A season that will be the best ever season. But, a season that also sums up Dawgstudents signature.

MSU has a great hot start. 7-0 going into Alabama. We lose a close game, but bounce back to win out the rest of the year. 11-1 after the egg bowl.

Alabama wins all of thier games but Les Miles finds a way to trip them up. 11-1

LSU beats all comers but Les Miles trips up vs us. 11-1

UGA beats everyone, but USC. 11-1

USC loses to LSU. 11-1

State ends the best season in school history... in Atlanta... at the Chick-Fil-a bowl.

It takes a true Mississippi State fan to be displeased with an 11-1 preseason prediciton. Well done, sir.

What's worse is that with the three or more team tie breaker format, you'd have to go to the 8th tie breaker before determining that LSU would play USC in the SECCG:

Three or more-team procedure
  1. (Once the tie has been reduced to two teams, go to the two-team tie-breaker format.)
  2. Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams.
  3. Record of the tied teams within the division.
  4. Records against the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
  5. Complete record vs. non-division teams.
  6. Complete record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
  7. Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
  8. The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game, unless the second of the tied teams is ranked within five-or-fewer places of the highest ranked tied team. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game.

Wouldn't it be the 7th tiebreaker since LSU beat the best non-common opponent from the East?
