And it stayed with our players all week, especially Fred Smoot."</p>

"And now this is a true story," said Sherrill. "The first time we were on defense, Fred told a Vanderbilt receiver that he would let him catch a pass if the receiver promised to do his homework that week. If the receiver didn't promise that, then Fred said he wouldn't catch a pass."</p>
