Love hearing The Kang.

Still waiting for him to call jersey numbers instead of names.

He called the game last night on pay per view.

It was interesting to hear him. He is not a natural born announcer so I can't say that he called the game like a pro but I did enjoy his insights. You could tell that he is impressed with Banks and this team as a whole. It also showed that he didn't always agree with the way Mullen was doing some things. I can't remember the specifics but he just would have done some things differently had he still been the coach. I think one statement stood out when he said something about when you put the younger guys in they need to be set up to have more success but Mullen does get them more playing time.

No doubt he is an extremely good advocate for Mississippi State. I am proud he is around the program.

Jackie Sherrill made a career out of challenging the traditional "flagships"

Love hearing The Kang.

Still waiting for him to call jersey numbers instead of names.

When he was at Pitt, he got under Joe Paterno's collar more than Jerry Sandusky got under boys' underwear. At Texas a&m, he had the t-sips spluttering more invectives than they did at Marines on the Austin campus during the Vietnam War. At The Mississippi State University, he showed us that the university of ole miss should always be our little brother. Thanks to him, we can take Dan Mullen's attitude that we should worry about whipping the big boys like Auburn or LSU instead of piddling around with toothless bears.

I was very lucky to be able to watch the game last night. Truthfully I was excited to see this game not for the football but really curious about what type of job he would do and what type of things Jackie would say.

Previously I have heard several radio spots that Jackie has been on and almost always was inpressed by the knowledge of the discussion topic he was able to portray to the listener.

Last night was a little disappointing as Jackie seemed to struggle with the live action involved with a live sporting event broadcast.

Overall I was very surprised by Jackie's continual call of "us" and "we.". Not entirely correct to do that but obviously shows his true feelings about the program. He will always bleed bulldog maroon and I LOVE IT!

My overall critique would come from his lack of ability to discuss and break down plays in better detail. I know the game has changed and each coaching staff has their own "language" but he really could not relate on a few occasions. Specifically when breaking down one offensive TD on the goal line and again on a defensive stand on the goal line.

That is my 2 cents of opinions and thoughts.

I enjoyed hearing him as well. However his delivery and phrasing wasn't the best but TV isn't something he has done much either. With that said, good job by whoever to get him on the broadcast. He really added some good insight into what was happening on the field. I enjoyed that. On one series that I recall, he was calling out our defense pre-snap and discussing why we were playing that defense in that down and distance situation.

He was hired by MSU to do the broadcast ESPN3 just picked it up. He was better than the Troy announcers.

I noticed the "us" and "we" a lot also. I think since it was on the Mstate Football Network and just happened to be picked up by ESPN allows him to associate himself with the team.

Overall he struggled pretty badly in the color role and if it was anyone else everyone would be slamming him, but you gotta love the kang!

Btw I've yet to see a highlight on ESPN. Thought for sure that Banks over the back INT would get some play.

I wonder if there is any correlation between Jackie being at the game and the noticable improvement in special teams play this weekend? That was our best ST play since......Jackie was HC.
