Hitler was a Christian just like the Fred Phelps from Westboro. The type of Christians that other Christians will discredit, and I don't blame them. THAT type of Christianity ruins the message. There's undoubtadly a rift, and though not the same according to most protestants, I would basically call them closer to the same than not especially stacked against other beliefs, especially in the southern U.S.

Agreed. I was speaking too generally. Only way to be a true christian is through Christ salvation. Roman Catholics obviously have issues there.
