You can't judge a whole Nation of Islam by its bad apples. Clearly this was a one off disaster that isn't what Islam is about.

Further more if guns were not so easily had this kid might have been able to stay away from this terrible situation. We have got to tighten up our gun laws so that these otherwise good people do not get tempted to do these type of things for NO reason.

I'm all for the 2nd amendment but when do you decide someone doesn't have a right to own firearms?

This formula could work
(Afghan firearms training + threats = no purchase list) US citizen or not.

This may slow down an impulse attack and probably wouldn't have stopped this tragic event. If someone wants to PLAN a massacre, he/she will find a way to get guns.
I'd go as far as travel to the Mideast gets you on a 10 year+ wait list. But, like you said, they will get them somehow.

There isn't a gun law you can pass that would stop someone hell bent on killing people.

Liquor was illegal during prohibition yet people got drunk.

Let's quit being naive and say there is a huge problem with Islamic extremism. These aren't quakers shooting up businesses and social gathering areas.

Clearly you should realize this is a one off case here and had he not had access to these kind of weapons this never happens.

Chill out, these type of things are no big deal and why we need more of his kind so that he feels more comfortable and then will choose not to make these kind of decisions.

Please just stop. You're not funny if this is sarcasm and you're an idiot if not.

You'll have one side of the aisle wanting to ban Muslims. It's the religion, not the guns.

The other side of the aisle will want to ban the guns. It's the guns, not the religion.

As usual, the correct answer is somewhere in the middle, but the extreme sides have no desire to meet there. So nothing will happen either way.

Apparently Disney on alert. You see a higher police presence?
No more than I saw at the other parks. I'm sure they stay pretty well out of sight here, but present. I did get randomly selected for search though. Second time in three days. Curse my olive skin.

No middle if the majority of these attacks are from the same element. It simply calls for people to wake up and agree to combat this enemy together. You do not have to comprimise your other beliefs to do it.

No ones wanting to ban Muslims, what they're saying is let's hold what we have until we get a better handle on the situation.

I mean, that's semantics. This kid was apparently American born and raised anyway.

For the record, I'm in favor of some restrictions. If you travel to Afghanistan for "pleasure", you're staying there. But many, many more simply want to round up all the Muslims at this point. And they're equal in number and craziness as those who want to completely ban guns.

There absolutely is a middle ground. It seems as though maybe you're just one of the people on either of the extremes that can't see it.

I want the good Muslims of the world and there are many. Muhammad Ali etc..
The people who do believe in the Koran and the teachings that are not terrorists need to get a hold of this and step out, concerted effort overseas of turning these people over to authorities, weeding out these teachings.

It cannot be done by the West killing off all the militants, it has to be done by Muslims themselves who must stand up to these ******** radical Islamic jihadists.
They have to stand up and get this out.
The Mosques that are allowing these bastards in, teaching them.

Most Muslims are like anyone else, they want safety for kids etc.. Ramadan is supposedly a peaceful journey.

Shouldn't even consider banning Muslims. We should be banning those from known terrorist areas whose identities cannot be verified.

Does that mean Muslims from Qatar, the UAE, and other friendly countries should be excluded? Absolutely not.

The correct answer is almost never in the middle. That's where we are now. Let's halfway do everything.

That is not true! Most people want to stop the import of more Muslims until they can be vetted. But as you saw today, even Muslims born here seem to be capable of horrendous acts in the name of their religion.

Hillary praying when the FBI agent said the shooter was Muslim he meant to say Mormon.

I'm surprised Hellary's team didn't run with that one, anyway. They always like to get a little mileage out of the propaganda... before the retractions come in a few days later.

This is nonsense. Look at what is happening in Turkey. It was a secular country but now has critical mass of the wrong kind of Muslims and its shifting (quickly) towards a theocracy. And the Muslims who are coming over in droves appear to be the wrong kind of Muslims.

Our litmus test should be: does the woman in your life where a burqa or head scarf when out in public? If yes, you aren't allowed in.

You completely missed my point, which was common sense restrictions should be made on both guns and travel to and from Muslim countries. But too many people want just focus on just one or the other.

I agree with what you're saying but this idiot was born here. His parents came here from Afghanistan. That said, he was on a FBI watch list. How in the hell did it get to this point?

MSNBC pushing the targeting of Gays, as if that's the motive rather that Islamic extremism. Do they not know that Gay sex still carries the death penalty in dozens of Islamic countries and that ISIS has crucified and tortured Gays?
