Shut their programs down and put that expense into something else. These teams consistently get beat by 40 or more when playing high level competition. There’s no chance they would ever get to the third and maybe not even the second round in the Tournament.

It’s a different game now with NIL and the portal…. Any one of these teams outside the top 15 that just so happens to find a diamond in the rough player, that player due to $ will jump in the portal. This leaves these teams all at the bottom of the mountain without the equipment to climb up
Tell me you never played competitive sports without telling me. Kids want to compete for their hometown, school, etc. not everyone can go to a top 15 school. Kids want to play.
Kids with talent are looking to get paid and couldn’t care less about hometown school or any other school for that matter.
It’s sad college sports has become McDonalds vs Wendys…..you can simply walk doen the street at any time for a dollar more per hour.

I have to look at through the lens of a regular student. If a biology major who was great in the lab at unlocking secrets of life was changing schools because different schools kept offering him more money to come to their campus and the degree he earned would be the same, would he take it? I'm sure almost any of them would.
Charlie's assertion was that students taking on huge debt to get degrees in gender studies, art history, English, etc. was a scam is really spot on.
