Should we talk about free throws

missed free throws kill you. michigan has the same issue, but not nearly as bad as WVU. I don't know how many front ends of 1 & 1's you missed last night, but those are real daggers.

At one point, we had missed the front end on 4 1 and 1's. It has got to the point that if Culver is fouled on a missed shot, it is the same as a WVU turnover.

As a fan of any team in any sport, you always sort of a bit illogical optimism about the performance of the team or player. Like, "yeah, he shoots 50% from the line, but I'm glad he got fouled," or "He's missed two beyond the 30 yard line but I'm happy we're in FG range."

Culver is now to a point where you honestly wish no foul was called and hope for an offensive rebound. To be blunt, it's absolutely shameful. I expect JV players in WV to make FTs. That fans can genuinely expect Culver to NEVER capitalize on the fouls is unacceptable.

There are no JV college teams anymore.

Teams defense vs Culver is to pound the heck out of him forcing him to the line instead of giving him the easy 2 points.

And are we still pushing the narrative that he will leave after this year to go and make money. REALLY?
Pro BB owners/ general managers have millions of dollars to throw at such a player that lacks several necessary BB skills?? He needs a lot more refinement before he is ready to make such a gigantic jump.

has to be some reason why these players can't shoot come in as good shooters but when they get here all they do is shoot bricks just look at the open shots that they shot air balls last game getting to the point where it so hard to watch i do not blame all this on huggins when he played he could shoot not a coach thank god an have no idea how to fix it but if one thing does not work time to try something else had so much hope for this team they have the parts just need to someway get them going huggs said they make them in practice they just need to bring it to the game maybe i expect to much winning an loseing is not everything going foreward just going to try to injoy game win or lose season is about over big things to come if he can keep these guys together over the next few years who knows maybe even a championship he has the parts

Better include all the problems:
Missed free throws.
Missed field goals, some within 5 feet of the basket!
Errant passes.
Torrent of unforced turnovers.
Slacking off on rebounding.

WVU has become the Barney Fife of the Big 12 -- no bullets in their guns.

And after a solid first half of the season, too, including the victory over Ohio State (which doesn't look as impressive today).

I can't figure out why the Pitbull Defense has turned into Zombies performances. It's a puzzlement.

Not much time left to fix this trainwreck either.

As usual I will cheer my heart out for my alma mater. But my heart bleeds for the players, too. They must be suffering even more than we are over this freefall in the Big 12 standings.

Saturday, Oklahoma comes to Morgantown. Let's have a group prayer and group hug for our Mountaineers!!!

Red Font Fan: WVU's best win all season is vs. Ohio State, according to the latest NET rankings. Ohio State is No. 18, Texas Tech is No. 21, and no other team that WVU has beaten is in the Top 40.

Is that one long sentence or what? Where did you go to college? Did you graduate? Surely not.
