Shouldn't it be battle for the golden egg not of?*

Yes it should be! Furthermore I do not understand why the Mississippi State Athletic Department or our supporters even acknowledge the term "Egg Bowl" because that was nothing more than a Hederman Brothers-Clarion Ledger (U of M loyalist) name that was created and subsequently adopted in 1977. Up until that time it had been known as the Battle for the Golden Egg. Many people still, correctly refer to it as such.
Next thing you know, the paper will change our name to Bulldawgs instead of the correct spelling.
The Clarion Ledger was owned by the Hederman Family at that time (1977). Today, I believe it is owned by Gannett.
