I'm just curious as to where you stand individually . No explanation needed. Simple response. Fire or Keep. I'll start.

A lot can happen. This isn't the answer everyone wants, but expectations can still be met... even though many think the season is long over. <div>
</div><div>With all that said, just simply based on the performances his teams this year have given in key games (Georgia, Auburn, Alabama... with USCe and Arky left to go), plus the complete circus that was last year, I want him gone. We can do better.</div>

unless he goes to the F4....and loses to cuse. If he loses to a different team but reaches F4 I say we can him anyway.<div>
</div><div>My guess is that Stans will end up at WKU.</div><div>

Win these two "winnable" games this week and win first game in SEC tourney - I think we might be in.

Doesn't mean I want to keep him but we can't fire him. Ideal scenario is that we make the tourney and he retires and we can all have great thoughts about him as he leaves.

though I'm not really hell bent on the issue either way. My main concern is that if we dump Stans then we pretty much lose our built in recruiting advantage in the state of MS that's been built up over the last decade and a half. And if we can't grab the top MS prospects in basketball (similarly to the way UM and USM can't) then I don't know where else we can pull enough top flight players from to be competitive in the upper half of the conference much less make NCAA tournaments.

I think you are overstating it. Seems like a lot (not all) of great players we have gotten in the Stans era are from out of state. And the superstar blue chippers have gone straight to the NBA. <div>
</div><div>Is he the best recruiter in the state? Probably. But honestly, that's not saying much.</div>

Twould be the easiest decision I'd ever made. Dude doesn't deserve to coach Mississippi State. Any other university would feel the same way.

Maroon, who cares about the in-state kids if they don't contribute. The only in-state kid we have is Hood and Sid that start, and Hood is the only one worth a damn. Deville's got issues, and might not be back and S. Smith is a "bust". The majority of our success under Stans is based on out of state kids.

most undisciplined team I have ever seen. no love for the university (just a uniform). get a big lead by chunkin' up prayers that all go in the first half....piss it away with turnovers/no one can buy a bucket in the second half. Rinse, repeat about 15 times. Reminds me of cowboys football.....A LOT.

Time for Rick to go. We need a change of direction which can only come with a change in leadership.

I dont know who to suggest to replace him. But I believe the AD must move on after the season ends.

In the good ole boy days of Larry Templeton, this is true. A proactive AD with balls can fire a coach because he sucks though. He doesn't have to sit around and wait for a completely failed season. This season has been nothing but a failure so far. So was last year. It would be really sad if Stansbury made the tourney and Scott settled and waited around for another failure to take place before we got rid of him. You gotta look out for what's best for the team. Not what's best for a booster's ego. Not what's best for keeping a couple players for next year. You gotta look for what's best for the program long term. He has proven over and over again that he sucks at coaching basketball.

discipline without talent doesn't work either. In fact, signing raw talent is more important in basketball than in any other sport. There is a definite ceiling that Stans' program can't seem to get through, no doubt, but you can look all around the SEC and see programs that are in even worse shape and realize that things could also get worse rather than better if the new coach doesn't pan out, ESPECIALLY if he can't recruit basketball players to MSU like most coaches couldn't before Stans got here.
