What's funny to me is that you sit on this forum all year waiting on these 12-14 weeks of football season and immediately turn into one of the biggest ***** ever when it arrives.

You do it every year and typically embarass yourself on most occasions. I've provided last year's receipts just recently.

We're 2-0 and have a coaching staff with the best W-L record in history after 4+ years.

The adults in the room are choosing to sit back and see how the season unfolds a bit before we wet our pants.

Below is a study showing that a chemical that's in our water supply (Atrazine) "induced complete feminization and chemcial castration" of frogs.

Maybe you need to start filtering the water you drink. However, I"m not sure your situation is reversable at this point. :)

How dare you bring common sense and sanity to this board!!!!

Well, it's quite the predicament we are in. The OC may not be very good, but we can't judge him b/c the OL sucks so bad. And the OL sucks so bad b/c we brought back an OL coach who we all know sucked. So now we have to hope that Beamer finally fires Teasley this off-season so we can evaluate Shula next year. But that will be the new OL coach's first season, so we'll likely have to wait until 2027 to find out of the new OL coach is any good, which means we have to wait until 2027 to find out if Shula is any good.
Shula could prove his worth this year by designing plays that get the ball out quickly to at least partly make up for OL deficiencies. I just don't see any ingenuity or creativity in the playcalling. Maybe that will change against Vandy.

I hate to see Sellers have to play on a team that can't get in position to score or where he might get hurt.

One thing that happened in the first half of the SCSU game that confounded me was field position. Maybe we should stop deferring if we win the toss.

Sounds like Shula is in the ''Coach Protection Program'' 🤷‍♂️

Just posted in another thread asking about quick pass plays.

We have one fatal flaw for certain on this staff and possibly two. Your bravado will not suppress their deficits. But you and Beamer are blessed to currently be holding the injury card should y'all need to use it. The AP voters, at least, are beginning to apprehend the truth.

What? King - You seem a little bit more invested that you're leading on. :)

The AP dropped us a single spot because FSU torched their opponent on Saturday.

Below are just a few of your responses following the Old Dominion Game last season.

We then proceeded to have one of the Top 5 seasons in history.

Again, who knows what's going to happen as the season plays out....but front running the apolcoyse might still be ill-advised at this juncture.

-----------------

"I'm trying to remember when we looked worse in winning a game. I know this, we've NEVER looked any more uncoordinated on offense, not even during Holtz's first year or Scott's last year."

"We'll have to improve incredibly to upset anyone."

"Almost every yard Sanders got was due to his own talent and effort. He has to wonder WTH he was thinking in coming here."

Most groups of fans go overboard with defeats, but South Carolina message board fans are the only group I’ve seen that will go out of their way, out of their WAY to downplay wins or recognition. First time I crossed swords with KW was over that very thing, probably 25 years ago after a Georgia game. There was a poster on another board that called this group ‘Eyores’, which I always thought was fitting.

There is a thought process among our MB fans that if we’re not operating at Alabama championship level, someone sucks or needs to be fired. That line of thinking is so far off that it’s almost impossible to even have rational discourse.

It's not as if there is zero justification for the early negative feedback.

Some of the posters who are pushing back the hardest against the "negative" (i.e. realistic) posts are the same ones who were adamantly arguing for our preseason hype and Seller's preseason hype as a Heisman contender and top NFL draft pick. That those same posters are now totally unbothered by our sluggish start, either means they really just don't actually care or they never really believed the preseason hype they were pushing.

Of course, there's the school of thought that 2-0 is 2-0, no matter what you looked like or how you got there. There is merit to that. There is likewise merit to the observation that what we've seen through 2 games will not win us many games this season against stiffer competition.

I guess I just don't know what we're supposed to talk about if we can't point out the bad as well as the good. As far as the product on the field this year, there hasn't much good to talk about, aside from Swain.

I don't know that anyone is downplaying the win against SC State. What is there to downplay? Aside from Swain, I would gladly talk about all of the good things from the game if there were any.

This is just the process of talking about the season as it progresses. If I had crystal ball and could see that we were going to finish with 11 wins, yeah, I'd be more reserved in my criticisms. But that doesn't exist. All we can do is talk about how the team looks at this moment. I'm just not sure I see the problem with that. For those pushing back on the post-SC State negativity, I haven't seen that position supported with all the good things that happened in the game (save Swain).

Good summation.

I would also add that if we're looking for rational discourse, we can't fly to the other extreme where anything short of "everything is fine" is met with lame name calling.

The truth, as always, is in the middle somewhere. And thats where the most interesting discussion is had anyways.

Actually, the opposite is true.

The posters staying positive were the same ones telling you to chill out about your preseason hype nonsense.

I'm certain they were also telling you to relax after we beat ODU and you proceeded to have this meltdown below. 👇

Botman - You really should retire this account. It's more embarrassing than your typical by a considerable margin.

-------------------

"There are so many promising young coaches in the game, we must’ve stumbled over all of those to get to Beamer."

"We need either: A. Current, successful head coach. B. Current top assistant at a top program."

"Beamer is probably coaching for his job against UK. "

"In over his head is the perfect assessment. Nice guy. Amiable. Affable. Terrible head coach."

"It's apparent we have systemic issues. Beamer hired a joke of an OC. He retained bad a bad OL coach and bad DC."

"I mean, it's clear from this game that he simply cannot coach, right?"

"4 wins ain't happening this year. We may lose this one and Vandy is much better than us. If we lose this game, seriously fire him tonight."

"How about Doty for head coach."

"Beamer may very well get fired after this season and he won't have anyone but himself to blame. He retained a horrendous OL coach and now we are reaping the consequences of that."

"I can't see any conference wins."

"This game definitely had a "beginning of the end" vibe to it."

"Based on this game, they are going to eat us alive next week. Deone Walker is going to be all over us."

"Suppose we could make a move on Liberty’s coach. Or Brent Key."

"Bad is being overly kind. Honestly, we do not look like he had ever practiced football. Like we just got a bunch of guys together to play ball an hour or so before the game."

"We're gonna lose. That's a foregone conclusion with how we played last night."

"Beamer lied, Gamecock dreams died!"

"I can't see a conference win on the schedule. Vandy looked MUCH better than us".

"Here's the question: if he had not coached here under Spurrier, would he have been on our radar at all? Obviously, the answer is "no". I am not trying to hate on Beamer. I like him a lot and think it would be the perfect situation for us if he found success here. "

"I don't see any way UK doesn't cover that. They might cover if they only score 1 TD."

"I assume Chadwell is at the top of many lists. Depending on how the rest his season goes, I'd like to give Brent Key a look. We should at least be assured of having a solid OL."

"Mullen wouldn’t be terrible except for the optics of hiring another former UF coach. There are a lot of quality assistants out there at Bama/UGA/OSU type programs."

"Well, good point. And he had been on staff under Spurrier. Otherwise, he was a journeyman college assistant. I guess when you've been an assistant for 17 years at 5 different programs and nobody's given you coordinator position, that means something."

"That was my thought. If you’re opposing team, just do exactly what ODU did and we won’t be able to do anything."

"I guess if you’re the administration and we can make money easy enough without putting much effort into it, why should we?"

"Spurrier would just say “we’re not a very good football team right now.” Not sure why Beamer feels the need to insist we’re a good team when we obviously are not. It just makes you question his ability to properly assess."

"When you watch us play, and then watch teams like Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, Texas, Ohio State… It doesn’t even seem like the same sport. Those other teams are vastly, more athletic, stronger, faster, better coached, more instinctual. For that matter, if you watch one of our current..."

A friend mentioned this to me yesterday. Most of our formations seem to be power formations. I thought I saw us use some spread but he said we did not. Anyone else notice this?

How does that work when the other team puts 8 or 9 in the box? The offense is going to be outnumbered almost every time. They were also able to put pressure on Sellers by alternating blitzers. It was a different blitz every time. Seems like the counter is to roll out or a quick throw to a TE or a slant. We did not do much of that either.

Moving Sellers around certainly seems like a good option to get things going. (Designed roll outs)

Let me add psychotic to creepy little man. There's something really off about you. Creep.

It's literally his words Jacque BOT. 🙃

And given this, my question for you is why did you immediately chime in to protest? :)

I'm just providing a little sunlight on your operation, Botman.

Just do what you always do when you're called out >>> Utilize back and forth BOT Q&A to make it appear like you're having normal football-related conversation again while increasing the pleasantries/likes to real accounts.

Eventually, you'll push the truth off of the first page and then you can resume your antics again.

Option here to use the back on pass plays to pick up the blitz or slip into the middle as a safety valve for a quick pass option. Not sure they try this or not.

But that doesn't exist. All we can do is talk about how the team looks at this moment. I'm just not sure I see the problem with that. For those pushing back on the post-SC State negativity, I haven't seen that position supported with all the good things that happened in the game (save Swain).
Some people are unduly prickly in the face of unwelcome observations.

They can and apparently mostly in the 4th quarter.
Late scoring runs tells me they are pretty well conditioned and don't stop playing until the clock hits zero.

Our O managed 17 points against the same VT defense. I don't think this is a traditional Vandy team.

It's all in fun as far as I'm concerned, Partner. We need to maintain it as fun.
One of the bots asked why I come on here. When gamecock sports forums first appeared, I naively thought they'd be populated by former players discussing games from a playing standpoint; strategies, why so and so is happening, etc; like vets discussing strategies and sharing war stories. I was wrong; it became like discussing hearing aids with people that don't have hearing loss. I come on now hoping to find information; injury updates, heard through the grapevines, etc that is not worth enough to pay for in my view, but I inevitably let myself get led down rabbit holes. I get what you're saying and you're right. It's just my instinct to defend what hits me as casual attacks on our players and coaches; I'll leave it at that.

You seem very upset about this.

They are public figures. It comes with the territory.

We're talking about a relatively trivial pursuit anyway. All the money involved now obscures that fact, but it doesn't "signify" with me.
