This cover made me realize. It would be really cool to see an egg bowl where we both wear our home uniforms.
Noticed that they had Dak as their #1 in the Heisman race

As much as I enjoyed us being good in basketball, that's a sacrifice I'm more than willing to make.
The players are almost three times as tall as the guy in red slacks on the sideline. Superhumans. No wonder we both won.
SI jinx. Is it real? Lars Anderson used to work at SI, just said on wjox here in bham they did a study on the jinx. Says it's real. To prove it they even put a black cat on the cover and 2 weeks later it died.
I don't want to believe it. I believe this team is different. In previous seasons we would have lost on that Hail Mary at the end of the LSU game. Past teams would have played last Saturday. Given up that quick td to aTm. Go 3 and out on the next possession and folded. But not this year. They seem to handle the pressure and hype. I know gameday is a different level but it seems that each week is a different challenge that they seem to handle well. In past years our team would have bought into the SI jinx. But I believe this team will prevail.

I didn't even know Sports Illustrated still puts out a physical magazine until this week. So if they put us on the cover of a magazine that no one sees, is there still a jinx? Anyway, that picture was taken in Mississippi's stadium and our players weren't even there, they were just photoshopped in. We can't be jinxed if they aren't even real, can we?
Seriously, I suspect the "jinx" comes from the natural tendancy of teams to have a letdown after a huge win. You usually get on the SI cover after a huge win, so the "jinx" comes from the natural letdown that would come with or without the magazine cover. I don't think anyone on our team or much of our fanbase feels like this was some huge win. I think the team expected to win (I know I sure expected us to win) and it was just another game.

More Katy Perry is the Mississippi tagline? I don't really understand why that's now an athletic tradition, like the cowbell, for Mississippi.
