From what sources have told me, Stringray does a podcast. And he applies for media credentials. He doesn't do any actual work in the press box.
I would rank my value of Stingray's opinions right up there with Bo Bounds opinions
Until I saw this Saturday night, I still thought Stingray had moved on to other pastures after Ohio Jeremy Pruitt murdered him on Twitter.

I was in the worst mood listening to that podcast until I heard that exchange. I listened to that “17ing Stiiiingray” about 96 times. Laughed Every. Single. Time.

Who is approving his media credentials is the question?
It is not necessarily hard to get a credential for State’s press box as long as it’s not a big national game and as long as you either know somebody or do something resembling talking or writing about the team. Spent a few seasons working up there in the Mullen era and there were a good many games where there were either a bunch of empty seats or you’d have some seats occupied by random people who were basically just fans.
Different people running the show now, but my experience was as long as there wasn’t a huge contingent of national or visiting team media to accommodate, they were fairly lenient on who they let get passes. It’s a fairly big four row press box and State just doesn’t have an overwhelming amount of its own media or staff to accommodate. Not as much as other SEC schools at least:

Yes. Please remind us all of said incident. I also would like to know what led up to the exchange between hadad and him. I listened to the rumblings and they mentioned it but said he was hovering but not much else.

Not only do we have a very prominent message board on a recognized sports media platform, we have an ever growing gameday Discord group, and a print magazine. We deserve a spot.
Actually, that should be the Upvote/Downvote prize… Sixpack’s spot in the media booth. We should even have an official SPS set of maroon-colored binoculars so we can present the on-field happenings in the most negative way possible.
It was right after Mullen left and Football Jeremy Pruitt was still the DC at Alabama and was the hot name to replace Mullen, and this poor Ohio chef also named Jeremy Pruitt had his twitter blow up in mistaken association, and he was cool and played along and became Twitter cool and even ultimately came to a game or two.

Anyway, I think it was also after Stingray's fool schtick had blown over and he had taken his ball and run back home to Alabama. So Ohio Jeremy tweeted something about all the love, and Stingray's old account is deleted and I don't have a screenshot but he basically replied and said something to the effect of hopefully they won't turn on you like they did on me, and then Ohio Jeremy uncorked this hellfire missile back at him:

Just about every post game Thunder and Lightning, Stingray tries to butt in or whatever. I think he’s getting tired of it.
Why do we continue to allow this dude access at all? He clearly is a weirdo. He is a bammer. He has taken his ball and ran not home but to Missouri of all places and we just allow him access? We already have (and I hate to be like this) a ******* rosebowl to take the trophy for the most different looking media member, the last thing we need is a stingray.

He has carried his torch to ANYBODY that would put him in front of a microphone or camera. He's a big fraud and attention who-re. I can't seem to locate a picture of him at Missouri or USM but he made stops at both those places too.......
