had no idea

is it on tv?
Sad but not many care. Fat hat sucked the air out of the program and will steal the silverware collection on his way out the door . Can’t remember a time when the program had less hope for the upcoming season
Even with Scott most kept looking forward to the next season assuming he was a good enough coach to get things figured out. We already know fat hat isn’t going to get it done and it’s sucked the air out of the room.
I do believe it’s on big 10 network ?

That’s my problem with Rhule. He wants to be a CEO, a marketer, a podcaster, a cheerleader and a preacher. And that’s fine, even great, as long as the football core operation is humming. But where Rhule sucks the most is where things matter the most: core football operation. He doesn’t coach a position group, and he doesn’t coach his coaches. Which could be fine if he was committed to hiring the best coaches possible. But Rhule is unable to identify coaching talent and unwilling to hurt anybody’s feelings.

The net result is that entering the fourth year, we are floundering without direction or a plan. And nobody knows or cares about the spring game.

Rhule messed it up so bad last year when he cancelled the spring game and then "brought it back" at the last second...

Then you have him as a lame duck coach this year...basketball doing well and possibly playing on that day (I think)...

It won't shock me if there are only 25K fans at the game.

I agree. Rhule screwed with one of our best traditions last year. Arrogant POS. No enthusiasm for this team among the fans. Sad.

Ironically, if the basketball team makes the EE, that might sort of save his ***.

Lincoln will be flooded with fans for the spring game, the bars and then the EE game at like 6pm.

There was genuinely more excitement for the simulated spring game on NCAA football during COVID than there is for our actual upcoming scrimmage

Hard to believe. Thank you, Preacher Rhule!

I still have a hard time believing it is this weekend? Has my interest fallen this far? Wow.

Glass half full: I am thankful it's not hyped up - as I keep saying "Cut the hype this offseason." But geez... this feels like a distant cousin's funeral I didn't even hear about so I can't feel guilty about not attending.

My take is like a lot of other things we get locked into, we do them just because we always have. Things like change the oil every 5000 miles even though modern cars recommend 10,000. There was no game last year and I discovered not attending a SG made no difference to me, so the cycle was broken and now I don't care. It might be different if it were like the 90s when the SG was a GAME. That is KOs, punts, good on good, no green jerseys, big hits, fights....real football. Not only was that much more entertaining, it fostered a culture of competition and *** kicking when the whistle blew in the fall.

Is there any word on ticket sales so far? I'll be curious to hear how many show up. Maybe a way to get the Admin's attention without hurting the streak?

It's pretty apparent they don't really want people going to the game. Thus the near total lack of publicity.

If NU is in the EE that day, Lincoln will probably be rocking...with a quick "Why don't we check out the spring game, then grab some beers and something to eat before the basketball game" crowd.

******* Rhule has ruined fan excitement, I know there are still Rhule Fan Boys that post here, but you guys have got to finally figure it out.

It was before my time, but didn't the spring game have low turnouts until Callahan showed up? And that was because everyone wanted to see what a new offense was going to look like.

The only reason why we care now is because the spring game attendance became one of the last things Husker fans could hang their hat on. It's been this way for 20 years, "Oooo, look at us. We sold out a practice! No one else does that."

Its just funny to me that people think the spring game attendance is something important when it wasn't pre-Callahan.

Man, Moos just ruined everything.
I blame the Raiolas for setting the program back. Yes, they were allowed to power play and hold some things hostage, but that's the power of a 5 star QB. Most coaches would have done the same thing, especially for a legacy.

If Colandrea is a bust then the Rhule disgust will be more warranted, in my opinion. For now, I'm holding the faith.

Yeah, Rhule chased the talent (Raiola) and tried to change his entire organization and strategy to fit the player. Elite coaches have a system and find players to fit that system (i.e, TO finding Gill, Taylor, Frazier, etc)

Rhule's camo hat was him admitting he has it all backwards.

GTFO. I felt nothing but apathy after two years of Scott Frost. Nothing but apathy for Pelini after the 2012 B1G CCG.

Nonsense. Spring game attendance was a big deal going back to the Osborne era. It isn’t a huge deal, but one more indication of how clueless and arrogant Matt Rhule (aka POS) is.

Were they sold out? I just remember quite a few high schools had their football teams go to the Spring Game (my small hometown included). No way my school was paying anything more than free to the game so I just figured there were plenty of available, free seats.

I think Rhule’s line of thinking made sense to someone in his position, but I do agree. He was clueless & arrogant about it. Teams arent poaching anything from us & even if they were, have some pride and know you can overcome that. POS? That's a little much, but I know your utter disdain for the man.

There was tons of seats these guys are clueless. I agree with them Rhule made a huge mistake last year but acting like the attendance was massive in TOs era is stupid because it wasn’t. The OP that said attendance didn’t become a thing until Billy C is correct.
