i know everyone's tired of them, but i think i missed this. what was the key piece of information that allowed to make the ncaa to make a judgement? i know there was that huge bank statement debate. were the bank statements handed over? if they were, was jackson just using the demands for bank statements as an opportunity to make the ncaa look ridiculous while he drug it out?

made and when they questioned sidney about it, they didn't like the answer.. they claim he lied about it and have outright said he lied... which is pretty outrageous considering you are asking a 19 yr old (age?) about an event that took place when he was what, 14?

yes..they did turn over the bank statements but from what I've read, there was nothing there.... this was after jackson had turned over several years of tax returns on not only on sidney sr, but their damned grand parents as well.. jackson bitched, moaned and groaned and said they would never turn over bank statements but eventually caved in on that...

I doubt any NCAA investigation on a player has ever requested anywhere near what they got out of the sidneys...

and all they come up with is a 9th grade trip and sidney's explanation not being what they wanted to hear..

oh i agree with the absurdity of it. i think demanding the bank statements was ridiculous. i just know the ncaa wanted them, jackson said they wouldn't get them.

i guess they got them.

so was jackson drawing this out to get his name out and take all these shots at the ncaa? talking to all the media that he can, dropping "cleared" rumors, etc. so people like katz bash the ncaa and damage its credibility for future cases?

or was there supposed to be some internal sidney family privacy issue? i think it is an invasion of privacy, but i don't know if jackson was the one concerned with the concept of privacy or if the sidneys were legitimately having major issues with the bank statements

in the 9th grade on the trip he made, and he received some "extra" gear from a company his father worked for.....is that correct ?

sounds like it to me. if they cleared him, they'd look weak. if they suspended him for this season and nothing more, they'd still look weak. i figured the announcement would come so close to the tournament that the coverage would be hidden by all the conference tournament & ncaa talk. i think it turned into an issue of damage control. if they said that this entire season was enough of a suspension, there'd be so much hype in the preseason about him becoming eligible after missing a season based on questionable evidence. he'll kind of sneak in there 10 games in (middle of december). his first 5-6 games will be during christmas and bowl season.

the ncaa just looks ridiculous on so many levels here.

i hope our token hard nonconference game or two happens at the end of december
