17pts and 9reb looks good but he looked like a baby in that paint.
Bost needs to drive to the hoop more and draw fouls
Steele came on hot and then didn shoot again
No. 12 for U Miss on the bench overreacted to everything and deserved a technical
1st loss to them in any of the big 3 sports(epecially FB and Basketball)in awhile

He definitely contributed the the bad shot selection. When he isn't playing well offensively we have no energy and it cripples us on defense...and having Sidney out there is like having 4 on defense.

Team didn't play up to potential, coaching didn't work.

Game over.

Loss.

Beat that dead horse; cross the river; tomorrow is another day.

More grim days if problems aren't solved; got it!

While his performance wasn't great, our inability to prevent easy baskets lost the game. The number of layups and dunks were astounding. They must have score 70% of their shots from 4 feet and in.

We're not going to be a Defensive team like days of old. We're going to need to score points. 4-15 shooting is terrible. Even if Bost would have been just 7-15 we'd have won the game. And not only are the misses lost points but missing a 3 pointer in transition and losing the rebound may as well be a turnover. The success of this team is going to ride on Dee Bost's shoulders.

If he doesn't go out and post a triple double every night with 25/15/10 while at the same time holding the opponent's leading scorer regardless of position to no points on 0-20 shooting, then someone is going to complain about him. The guy gets yelled at by his own fans more than he does the opponent's fans. Does he do things that piss me off? Is he lazy from time to time? Yes and yes. But he's putting out a pretty decent effort the last month or so. Scratch that - he's giving very good effort. If some of you idiots would open your eyes and watch for yourselves instead of piling on for additional internet cred, you might actually see some of this for yourself.

damn sure didn't win it for us either.........He gave up more points than the scored...........His defense, or lack thereof, will be our downfall.......Now, with that outta the way, this one is on Bost, IMO......He's got to get to the rim more and stop taking so many jumpers, that he's not hitting.......He could make Moultrie and Sidney both better by driving to the hoop more.........

blocking out, but so did Moultrie, Hood, and everybody else on our team. Sid kept his head, played well on the offensive end, rebounded, and hustled a little bit. He actually was the first man down once and Deville hit him with a long pass for a layup attempt and foul. This loss goes on not attacking their zone, not blocking out in our's, and a mediocre player playing out of his mind and making everything he shot. I've never seen a bank shot from the front of the basket that hits about a foot from the top of the back board go in. He did it! Dee has got to play better. As he goes, we go. He should've had about 15 assists last nite because of the way Holloway and Buckner won't to block shots. Dee did this on occassion and got Sid and Moultrie some easy buckets. He just didn't do it enough. We missed one of our golden opportuities for a road win last nite. Now we have to go to Vandy where I don't remember winning a game. Why is it nothing ever comes easy for anything MSU? Frustrating as HELL!

Also, and I said this last night in a buried post, it has become evident that he will not get any "benefit of the doubt" type calls from officials. That travel call last night was iffy, at best. You watch any other big man in the country make that same move 10 times a game and you'd be hard pressed to see it called a travel. He can just stand there with his arms straight up in the air, not moving a muscle and some guy comes barreling in the paint out of control and if there's the slightest bit of contact, he's getting a foul called on him.

Sidney has a reputation now. Like it or not, he just can't get in and bang around down low enough to be as effective as people seem to think he should be.

Sidney has been playing well. I just don't see the complaints as being justified anymore. He had a pretty good game last night. Good effort on his part for the entire last month. I just wish he had the Mario Austin / Lawrence Roberts intensity on every play. You see it in Bost, Hood and Maultrie sometimes. Hope they can all get it on the court for the rest of the season.

I had penciled this one in as "the game that Nard goes Tard." I fully expected a brawl instigated by Nard throwing an elbow or hard fouling or chunking the ball at someone or stomping someone or, hell, just winding up and throwing a haymaker. I fully expected it in that environment. So, I have to praise him a little for somehow keeping his 7th grade emotions and mental level in check. He still plays defense like a 7th grader. Female.

I mean, he didn't even attempt to block out, and never even jumped. Really, check the highlights. He's a hell of a talent, and there's not much you can do when Buckner decides he's Zach Randolph.

which is defense and rebounding but he played well offensively and he was on the floor for a lot of minutes.

we learn to be unselfish as passers, move to open spots as players without the ball, and flash the lane away from the driver.

Hood is very unselfish and he can also finish decently. He also has a decent pullup midrange jumper. Bryant can finish but doesn't understand the meaning of "if i give it up to the wide open guy on the low block, then it will make it easier for me to score later". Not a knock on Bryant b/c Dee is plenty guilty himself as well as others. Also we have zero basketball sense (news flash here).

When you drive to the basket, other players have to know what to do. For instance, if you drive from 1 wing, the opposite wing should fill the open spot on the backside. OPEN SPOT IN OR CLOSE TO THE PAINT. The point can roll over to the backside wing or corner for an open 3. The post player to the ball side should roll back to the ball side low block just outside the paint. The driver attacks the center of the lane and then has two options to dish to when the defense helps. Problem is we don't get that, haven't been coached that or just lazy as !*%*. I don't think we are lazy. We just don't move without the ball. If we do, we all end up in one place. Its a product of today's society in basketball and coaching.

We are a much better team with the RSS than without him. Lewis is far worse than the RSS on both ends, did you watch the game?

Dee Bost lost the game along with poor coaching and game preparation. We were not ready to play, no intensity or drive to win.
Dee has to become a pass first PG, not a shoot first PG. Stans just lets Dee be Dee and we lost last night...
Imagine if Dee would penetrate and either pass for a layup or open 3, score, or get fouled.
That has to be the key to this team and he wants to shoot 3 pointers.
Our staff has to recognize this and sit down and tell Dee what he needs to do for this team to win...

Here's my theory - if a team is shooting well against us, they can let Sidney have a 20/10 night and still beat us if Bost & Moultrie can't get going.

This is what happened last night. UM double or triple teams Moultrie everytime he touched the ball. Bost did nothing but throw up a lot of ill advised 3s, and they completely ignored Sidney --- let him do his thing. Score 17, grab 10 rebounds (some gimmees off missed free throws). With UM shooting well, Bost & Moultrie shut down, there's nothing Sidney would do towin the game for us. He's such a liability on defense that it pretty much negates his production on offense.

I've heard so many announcers say our results will depend on what Sidney does but that's absolutely false. Our success depends #1 on Bost, and #2 on Moultrie. Sidney is just a role player.
