10. Dan Mullen, Mississippi State: I was prepared to rank Mullen a bit higher than this. But then he went and opened his mouth last week and started taking shots at other SEC programs. That's left me seriously questioning the guy's intellect. I mean, you're at MSU, which has all the charm and ambiance of a really nice federal penitentiary. Humility is key.

We could spend a billion dollars on facility and landscaping upgrades (on top of the hundreds of million we've spent in the last decade) and lazy sports writers would still be writing snide comments like this. I'm serious. I was blown away by the upgrades I saw on campus last month...Hell, even the drive in from HWY 82 east is infinitely more attractive than it was just 5 years ago.

I suspect most sports columnists haven't been on campus in years, and if they do, never leave HWY 12 except to go to the game.

Who ever heard of Josh Moon of the Montgomery Advertiser? I suspect he has never been to Starkville or MSU. Certainly our campus has plenty of charm and ambience. We may not be anywhere near as big or rich as most of our SEC brethren but our campus has won many awards over the years and looks better now than it ever has, I think. I wouldnt worry too much about Mr. Moon, may he have a wonderful time in Montomery, which has never won any beauty awards that I am aware of.

if I can figure out how to email this guy, I'm going to actually invite him to come over to a game as a guest at our tailgate, and sit with us, and experience gameday and the campus on my dime. I'll be willing to bet he doesn't accept the offer.

WINNING IS KEY. Win and all this other **** goes bye bye. Also the greatest facilities in the country couldn`t overcome the dumbassery of hiring Sylvester Croom. Just win baby !

program aimed at informing the media about the State campus. You get enough olemiss and alabama hack journalists saying something year after year, and it is incredible how it will permeate. Granted, years ago, starkville and the campus were pretty dreary at times, but things have changed greatly.

it's obvious this guy's not that good of a writer because he's just making stuff up. i mean there really is no doubt that he's never been to state, in my mind.

A or B or both A. He's an Auburn fan and didn't like Mullen's comments on the limo recruiting by Chizik and his gang. B. He's pandering to his Auburn fan base with the shots to Mullen. Montgomery is as close to an Auburn town as you get in Alabama.

He's wrong about the MSU campus, but he's right about Mullen. Until he proves he can do anything more than relay the play Urban wants to run to the QB, humility would be a pretty good idea.

And drove through Montgomery from time to time. Used to fly with an Alabama Army National Guard unit there on occasion. To me, Montgomery was similar to Jackson.
