I know NIL and the state of recruiting wants to make us all throw up. That being said, we did sign several very good recruits today. Filled a big need at DL and CB. Also brought in quality guys at other positions. These will help , but not immediately. We will have to do well in the portal to have a chance next year, like it or not. Some of you think we can’t get good portal guys…., even though we have in the past. Either Beamer will bring some in or he won’t. It’s on him either way. The fact is we need experienced players now to be competitive. That’s why we were good last year. Rocket, Kennard, and others helped make us competitive. We wouldn’t have won 9 games without those guys. Let Sellers go pro, use that money in the portal. Same can be said for other guys. This is the new reality. All these schools signing big numbers of recruits aren’t going to have money to throw around. I don’t like it, but it’s the game now.

But the schools we need to compete against do have the money to pay a lot of recruits, we don't have the NIL money or a winning tradition, gonna be hard in the NIL age.
I thought Fuller was pretty decent I have high hopes for him next year. I assume he stays? I haven't kept up

Maybe (Just Maybe) Beamer can find another "Rocket" in the portal. He is one of the MAIN reasons Cocks had a good year last season..
Losing Duckworth would punch a major hole in the class, in part b/c he's a high level recruit and in part b/c it will leave us with no QB this class. But I'm not in favor of bidding wars over players who have yet to even take a snap in practice.
I know you always want to get a QB every recruiting cycle. I went back and looked at our past 5 recruiting cycles to see the history of our QB's. It's surprising to see some of these names and how they didn't pan out at SC.

Maybe we should find a big powerful WR and move them to RB. That worked out good with Duce Staley
Other than Spurrier years, the 2020 and 2024 have been our best. This years group will rank right up there.
