has had slightly more success, against lesser opponents, this season. I'm just going on last year, and Sikes' clutch ability. Something, for the most part, we've only seen from Wes for about 2 months in 4 years.

I agree Wes needs to pick it up even more though. Having a healthy Collins in front of him will help some bc Collins should be on base... Not all the pitch arounds

If the guy is a pull hitter, why they did not throw a changeup or maybe a curve was a question the LSU coaches should be asking their pitching coach.
I would take Rea in a heartbeat over Orvis. Rea plays better defense. Rea has also delivered. Looking at Orvis, LSU did not think about throwing any pitch other than a fastball. LSU blew it and Orvis was determined to hit the first pitch thrown.

Orvis is a better power guy/middle of the lineup guy than Rea. I like Rea better defensively, but Orvis made some nice picks last night that kept them in the game. Orvis hit double digit homers last year. Rea didn't sniff that.
You and I agree on some things Kurt, one being Sikes Orvis. I think he's one of the best clutch hitters in the league. These days it seems pretty rare to fear a guy coming to the plate, but I really hate to see him in the on deck circle.

If you watch
them play, you would see a difference. Just going to their respective stats pages online doesn't necessarily tell the entire story. Given that, Rea has yet to have the same season that Sikes had last year.

Who is Kyle Allen? If you mean Will Allen, he hit before Sikes last year, so he wasn't protecting Sikes.
I've seen Orvis struggle a lot of the times I've seen him play, just like I've seen Rea struggle a lot. I've also seen them both get some real clutch hits and look great at times. I do agree that overall he's probably a little better player than Rea is, but if we was on our team, we'd be cussing him just like my Bear friends cuss Orvis a lot of the time.
