The CPL championship game is this Saturday (no offense to Curie, Raby and new powerhouse Kenwood). Phillips comes in with all the accolades and I'm sure Simeon wants their crown back. Simeon has put together a couple impressive wins defeating an Ohio blue blood with ease and also beating a solid Naperville North. Phillips on the other hand was dismantled by an Ohio power and escaped an average Chaminade down in East Boogie. Phillips has the individual talent, but do they have the intangibles to defeat a quality opponent? Does Simeon have the top shelf talent to compete with McAlister's cavalcade of Power 5 athletes? Can Simeon overcome the Phillips home field advantage?

I may have to check this one out if it's not on TV.

I know that Phillips was definitely banged up after Saturday's game including the starting QB....and Simeon's Alante Brown is an exceptional player....last few meetings have been close and low scoring and I can see more of the same here. I seriously doubt any TV since it's a Sat 630PM kickoff so....and the whole QB isn't a QB crap is...well just crap. Brown had offers (Miami of Ohio among others) who recruited and offered him as a QB but decided to commit to Michigan State as a receiver. Trust me Brown will hammer teams with the run and the pass.

Agree with Edgy on Alante Brown, but will expand; Brown is the type of QB that will give this particular Phillips team fits.

They will never change as long as Mike Larson is calling the D...and I love that D FYI yes it has breakdowns but in more cases than not they get the job done...and Pickerington Central isn't exactly little sisters of the poor so...

We did the same thing. Man up with no help and say our guys are better than your guys. Nubin and Hall scorched us last year and LWE won on a 75 yard pass play on 4th and 25 with 2 mins remaining. This year, help over the top on Nubin and even though he made an impact in the game it was definitely limited.

Phillips will be safe with that down in 5A and 6A (most of the time).

Yes but if I could use an analogy: It’s like putting all your money in tech stocks with no bonds or cash. Over the long long haul it works most of the time and you can win big and make lots of money....but sometimes is doesn’t and when it doesn’t it is ugly.

I am still shaky after the teck wreck in 2000-2001 and the Great Recession in 2008-2009. Maybe it’s just me and I have grown more conservative over time.
