I think he will be back with a new staff. I think he will throw McCorvey and Stringer under the bus.

The simple answer is yes. I don't believe the buyout money is there.

Its there man. I can assure you.

It may be, but I don't/won't believe it till he's bought out. I guess I'm just a pessimest.

because of last year's results and the corresponding rewards (COY, extension, raise, etc...), he will be given one more year to make the changes needed to "right the ship". It makes sense given MSU's historical slowness to pull the trigger on a coach and because of the political correctness implications dealing with the first, and only, black HC in the SEC.

And for all of that, I would have to fire him for not seizing the opportunity & laying a rotten egg this year.

Hell, he had players, & I think himself, saying that we are finally at a position we can compete for a SEC championship

We have gotten 17'd, & he didn't even have the common courtesy to give us a reach around

my common sense. He's the reigning SEC Coach of the Year. He's coming off an 8-win season. He's a "man of character." He "inherited an impossible situation" (I'm not supporting or denying these, just stating common perceptions.) He has the best recruiting class in recent MSU history coming in. He hasn't yet taken that necessary step of trying new coordinators. He's not getting fired, unless if he tries to keep Woody.

Rumor going around here today in Starkvegas is that McCovery is going to stay on another year as OC. I sent GB an email Saturday night and got a response from him saying: Thanks for Emailing -- GB

It's not like we are, say Florida, trying to fire Urban Myer for losing to Ole Miss. All we want to do is fire a loser. Would the first step in changing that mindset of, We are M-State, not be firing this loser.

Can you imagine what it is going to be like going into next season, ZERO enthusiasm for the upcoming season.

after 1 win over JSU and 5 losses (1 of them to Vandy and another Houston) he quits and hands the reigns over Coach X
who leads the Bulldogs to a couple of victories and then we have decision to make

...fanbase for unrealistic expectations at MSU. Winners accept responsibility, & losers look to blame.

he just shouldn't be allowed to coach next year.

Byrne has got to realize, if Croom loses out this year, the negative effect it will have next year.

and play close in the other 2 he will remain. I predict 2 blowouts and a close loss therefore he will be gone. After 4 of 5 seasons with 3 wins he will not stay.

who the hell get's 6 years with all the crap he has done, said, and.....that stinking offense.....if he is back, what a joke msu football has become, we will have then taken vandy's place as who the nation percieves as the sec's bottom dweller.....might as well cancel the football program here, seeing as how nobody at the university thinks we can do better.....if that is the case, i wish we would have kept jackie until the day he died

sales would plummet to hell .We'd probably lose money in ticket sales than the damn buy-out would cost. I'll be glad to see Sly's *** back across the Alabama state line.

that if we win 4 he stays, and if we win 3 or less he will be gone. I don't know what that authority has to say about things now as I haven't spoken with him since.

If he stays, whatever happens between now and then I bet the offense puts up some points in next years spring game, and I mean a lot of them. Even if he has to run over some of the D with his golf cart. I am serious. Another scrimmage with no points and there may be UM vs Northwestern St, or whoever it was, interest next season. Hell even Jean may call for his head.

If you think about it with him at the helm next year we may have no O and no D. We could go JSU and 11.

Don't count JSU as a win just yet, Don't forget how good Crooms is at geting his team up for the first game of the year.
