The offers were pouring into his agent. Miami and Tennessee each offered $4 million. Ole Miss joined around the same number. Tennessee hinted it could go as high as $5 million. Eventually, Miami raised its offer to $6.5 million.
Why doesn’t he take the Miami offer? That offense is extremely QB friendly too.The offers were pouring into his agent. Miami and Tennessee each offered $4 million. Its all NIL, even though almost none of it is NIL.We have to have a distinction between NIL deals and the collective stuff at some point.
I think we just have to realize that NIL isn't Name, Image & Likeness and never was. It's all just pay for play.We have to have a distinction between NIL deals and the collective stuff at some point.
Yeah, F that noise. I love state, but if Miami offered me a bazillion dollars, go canes“I would’ve been remembered as the guy who chased money to Miami or Tennessee for a final season…
But I was a captain. My handprints are in the cement at Denny Chimes.
I would have lost everything I built at Alabama.”

I agree, but Miami did it last year with Beck and they're playing for a Natty next week. For some, that's all that needs to be said.Between Leavitts rumored offers and Simpson, I'm convinced people are just throwing money to be doing it. Neither of those QBs are worth that amount of money.
I think the real reason is he's just ready to go to the NFL. If he wanted to stay in college, he would have been paid at Alabama.Yeah, F that noise. I love state, but if Miami offered me a bazillion dollars, go canes
Considering the situation LSU was in, Leavitt kind of had them over a barrel and they had no good fallback option. I don't know what they're paying him, but he may be the difference between 6 wins or 9 wins.Between Leavitts rumored offers and Simpson, I'm convinced people are just throwing money to be doing it. There are definitely NIL deals that don't come from the collective, I'm not sure about football but I know there are for other sports.I think we just have to realize that NIL isn't Name, Image & Likeness and never was. It's all just pay for play.
Make no mistake. Ty Simpson did more in college football than I could've ever done at any level, but him talking about what he built at Bama as their #16 all time passing leader is about like Tyson Lee talking about his shining legacy at MSU“I would’ve been remembered as the guy who chased money to Miami or Tennessee for a final season…

Which is probably the right call right now. Weak QB class and the Oregon QB announced he’s going back to college. First round picks have 4 years guaranteed money. Hard to imagine he wouldn’t be a first round pick this year.I think the real reason is he's just ready to go to the NFL. If he wanted to stay in college, he would have been paid at Alabama.
