I was on break from my science and technology class (3 hr class). I was walking through the little student center/break room/cafeteria and over heard some other students talking about a small plane hitting the WTC. At first all I thought was some small time pilot in a biplane just didnt know how to fly and crashed into the building. Then I was about to walk back to class and noticed on the one very small tv in the room the news was on and students were gathered all around it. About ten mins after I started watching the second plane hit. At this point I knew this was very serious and not an accident. Went back to class and the teacher told us to go home and do whatever we needed. I filled up on gas and got to my apt in Starkville only to find my two roommates glued to the news. I think we had it on fox news for 5 days straight. Will never forget that day, the horrifying sites, the horrible losses, or the ultimate sacrifices many Americans made that day from firefighters, police, military, passengers on flight 93, to normal citizens doing what they could to help ... Heroes were born and made on that day.
