I doubt he'd come or even be interested, but he was a good DC while at Notre Dame. I've always wondered why he hasn't gotten another shot anywhere, but maybe he's just happy in the booth. Still hoping we steal some guys from AU/TN defensive staffs.

...I enjoy listening to him on ESPN2. He is an extremely knowledgeable analyst, and does not come off as a douche. Not that that has anything to do with coaching ability, but I'd take him based on his resume.

Cause if you mean Ellis Johnson you have lost your mind. He doesnt WANT to come back unless its as head coach. He wouldnt even consider returning as DC

And I can't say if he would consider it or not, and neither can you. I realize that there's less than a 1% chance, but I would be OK with making him the highest paid DC in the country if he would come. Ninja got game, you know.

to Bob Davie. He is the reason Notre Dame spiraled into a black hole they cannot seem to get out of.

doubtful that he would be a viable candidate. He was also an early understudy toJWS at either Pitt or A&M...maybe both. He would have been a good choice instead of Croom at that time.
