The five best and worst high school helmets in Mississippi

THE BEST


1. South Panola - You see this design and you know its South Panola.


2. Ocean Springs. Awesome use of school colors, an original logo


3. St. Martin - Looks better than it would on Maroon helmets


4. Union - If you are going to rip off a team - this is how you do it.


5. Petal - That's a badass panther. Would be higher if helmet was black.

THE WORST


1. JZ George - A complete rip off of the Croom error helmets.


2.Ripley - worst rip off attempt. Looks like it was designed in 7th grade computer class. Arial font?


3. Laurel - Someone used Microsoft Publisher Wors Art in the 90s.


4. Brookhaven - This doesn't even make sense.


5. Amite Christian - anything that uses the Alabama logo with Ole Miss colors has to be mentioned.

to the worst. I would put it in the top ten.....clean lines and distinctive, even as an Auburn ripoff........

Hate the separation between the stripes and it's just too plain. It would look much better as a navy helmet with white lettering and no separation between the stripes. Wayne County's looks worse because they 17ed up the WC logo. Warren Central's is much better.

That helmet looks good. Auburn has always been one of my favorite helmets.

Where are yall getting these helmet pics?

I think Clinton's are terrible. And our boy Dylan Favre's old ensemble is terrible from head to toe.

Shaw and Simmons both have Superman logos I think. That is pretty terrible.

I also think Tupelo's logo and "mascot" are among the worst. Just because. I mean a wave, in Tupelo? Someone help me make that make sense. Makes me think of a George Strait song about ocean front property.

Southaven is awesome. Dear flashes, this is how you do a bolt. One of the best helmets in the NFL and doesnt change for Southaven.

From what I gather, when Hall took over at WC, he ditched the old unis and headgears and personally picked out everthing. Wanted to shed the loser mentality at WC and start over. If so, it worked.....

Their helmets have gotten better since they have taken the wave off the helmet (an actually wave), the blue with gold T looks pretty good.

was ripping off the Pontotoc helmet

(especially the old one with the yellow shield) but with the added...waving dreadlocks?...illusion of movement?
Even though it is a ripoff of the old Washington Redskins/ Utah Utes helmet.

but no one is disagreeing that JZ George's Croom helmets are the worst high school helmet in Mississippi.

The last worst helmet belongs to Amite <span style="text-decoration: underline;">School</span> Center in Liberty, MS. I think the helmet folks have that wrong on their site.

My high school: Hey - decals were expensive!


I lived in this school district while in Nashville


and now ....Those who know NWR better - is the script really gray or is it gold?

We went away from this a couple of different ways right around 2000 or so. At one point it was a blue helmet, white facemask, and some weird M logo. Then, they went back to the Cats script logo, but on a white helmet with blue lettering. The above is definitely my favorite of those options, though.

As an Atlanta Falcons fan who doesn't like the current Falcon, that's awful.

I wish the alma mater - Northwest Rankin - would go with something a little sleeker. K State's logo would be cool looking with black, white and gold.

And that Water Valley / WVU appropriation is AWESOME
