could we have a recounting of "IT", for those of us who weren't there to experience it. I have a feeling the Lexicon doesn't do it justice.
The background of IT - Gene started it all with "It's coming". It represented Paul Broussard - a huge DL recruit from Blinn JC in Texas. He was like the #1 DL recruit in the nation or something like that. LSU, Texas, everyone wanted him or something but he signed with State. On his way to Starkville, he got shot in the KFC parking lot in Baker, LA right outside Baton Rouge. Our luck as a MSU fan - the saving grace of our DL troubles gets shot before he even steps foot on campus as a student.
So after the SixPack started, we were trying to think of a way to announce the board to Genespage. We kept posting "IT'S coming in 2 weeks", "IT'S coming in 6 days", etc. And I will let the lexicon take care of the rest:

To clarify, once Gene figured out what IT was, I said IT was me getting engaged. The engagement ended a month or two after that after I posted that I caught my fiancee in bed with another woman.
And IT has had many meanings since then.
that led to the board? Something like all the sheep predicting that we were going to be good in football, and some of the future sixpackers saying that we were going to win 2-3 games that pissed them off?

he literally was going to be our saving grace. texas wanted him, but he couldn't get in academically. not a problem for jackie sherrill. i think the story was that he was riding with his dad, a truck driver, and they stopped at a truck stop. dad went in while paul slept in the truck. paul woke up, and somehow managed to get shot in the parking lot while dad was inside. or at least that's how i remember it.
