for a cool 300k, who would you want to see the athletic department replace them with? Jackson State, South Alabama, and at Troy are on the slate.

I, for one, would like to see us replace that game with a lower tier BCS school at a neutral site (i.e .vs Baylor at Cowboy Stadium, vs Maryland in Nashville, vsDuke in Atlanta, vs. Wake Forrest in Charlotte, Iowa State in Little Rock, etc )

By doing this, it would allow for us to play a BCS out of conference opponentfor the first time in 3 years . It would also allow us not to have to lock into a home and home , so if need be, we could schedule four non BCS opponents for 2013. It would also allow our fans to travel to a cool city to play a game versus an opponent we have a good shot at beating .

After agreeing to the preseason CFA bowl deal with Bama for 2013 they moved their ECU series from 2012/2013 to 2015/2016.

I'm not sure I want to tee it up against the Hokies though.

although that would be interesting.I was thinking along the lines of Duke, Wake Forrest, maybe NC State, Baylor, Iowa State, or evenan average Big East school like South Florida, Cinncinati, Rutgers, Lousiville, or Syracuse

if it could prove to not be a financial strain to our athletic budget to play @ Tulane every year.

We are probably about even straight up, and VT has the habit of shitting the bed in nonconference games.

there is no reason Tulane should not be on the schedule EVERY year. If we have to play Conf USA then Tulane moves to the top of the list.
NO REASON for us to go to Troy and to Mobile to play S Ala

I love a Tulane trip, but seven at home is not optional unless we find a way to have 8. $300k buyout? Thanks again Larry.

with Baylor ... they already 'cancelled' (read ... backed out) of a return match in Starkville. Would be okay with any other team in Cowboy or any of the others ... except ... I won;t go back to Little Rock ... unless I'm back in the ole B-52.

but I think if done right ,we could schedule a good ' one and done' at a logical netural site the fan base would travel to.

Something like MSU vs. Louisville in Memphis at Liberty Bowl stadium would be fitting .Its a good neutral site both fan bases would travel to, and a game that would have a bowl atmosphere feel to it

........or Troy or Mobile....... (after those games are completed) ever again, then the Alabama terds are right. We need to get out of the conference. Not only should we never play at Ruston, La. again, we should never, ever, ever schedule La. Tech in anything. They are a couple of steps below bush league and I am complimenting them.

I'd rather play JSU and Slippery Rock every other year than to have to play at D-1A dumpters ever again.

I don't mind an average OOC schedule. Just don't schedule terds that back out of a deal that favors us. (even though I never thought a 2 home for1 away with La Tech favored us). So for a cool $300 grand they got a home and home series with us and probably a split out of it. Good for them. Sucks for us. Screw em. They need us more than we need them.

until we consistently win 9 or more games a year.... No need to throw road blocks into our current momentum until we can beat the Bama's and LSU's on a regular basis.... I'd like to eventually see some Pac-10 South teams come to Starkville or Miami/Florida State. But I'm speaking of the 2016 and on seasons, after and if we start winning on a more consistent basis.

For now, I'd rather go bowling consecutive years than play teams that may jeopardize bowl bids...

Never, ever, ever, ever play 6 home games again. We've cussed Templeton for over a decade for 6-game home schedules and now we haven't even started the last one of those travesties he left us with and you're advocating 6 home games? WTF? I understand wanting to have fun in New Orleans, but the Saints play 8 games a year there.
