Why is baseball, specifically the renovation of Dudy Noble, so low on the priority list? Basketball finally got it's practice facility, football got the Moo Tube and will be getting an expansion, track got it's facility resurfaced, etc. But baseball, our one historical winner, seems to always get pushed to the bottom of the project heap. Frankly, the program has earned more respect than that. And it's not like we lack for donors in baseball, either. It shouldn't be too hard to raise the necessary money to renovate The Dude.
Further, our baseball program generates revenue for the athletic department. It is among a very small minority of baseball programs that can make that claim. With the success of last season, I would think you would strike while the iron is still hot in the same way you have with football the last few years. But yet there's been no action on the baseball front. It's disappointing to see our facilities fall further and further behind the rest of the SEC. It's time to start catching up in this area.
