This is an interesting look at what our NIT bracket would look like if it were merged with the South NCAA bracket (what the NCAA will look like next year)

Seeds
1. Duke
2. Villanova
3. Baylor
4. Purdue
5. Texas A&M
6. Notre Dame
7. Richmond
8. California
9. Louisville
10. St. Mary's
11. Old Dominion
12. Utah State
13. Mississippi State
14. UAB
15. Siena
16. South Florida
17. North Carolina
18. William and Mary
19. North Carolina State
20. Sam Houston State
21. Coastal Carolina
22. Robert Morris
23. Jackson State*
24. Arkansas-Pine Bluff*

*-I realize that these two teams would be separated. This is just a could be look.

First Round Games (on campus Tuesday and Wednesday)
Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Louisville
Jackson State at St. Mary's
Robert Morris at Old Dominion
Coastal Carolina at Utah State
Sam Houston State at Mississippi State
NC State at UAB
William and Mary at Siena
North Carolina at South Florida

Second Round (begin neutral sites Thursday and Friday)

UNC/USF winner vs. Duke
WM/Siena winner vs. Villanova
NC State/UAB vs. Baylor
SHSU/MSU vs. Purdue
CCU/USU vs. Texas A&M
RMC/ODU vs. Notre Dame
JSU/SMC vs. Richmond
UAPB/Louisville vs. Cal

Huge difference between an 8 and 9 seed in this proposed format. Sounds like its a done deal and will be announced prior to this years Final Four.

I've changed my stance to being in favor of the expansion. I'd love to say our being left out several times hasn't affected my opinion, but it has, albeit not as the only factor. We're hardly the only bad pick the committee has made in recent years. Since the NCAA now owns the NIT, let's just bundle 'em and go from there.
