Single Digit Numbers

Y’all seeing this on the Cowboys. Several defensive players and I’m seeing at least one WR. What’s been the rule in the past and why are they using these now?

Not sure what the rule was but they changed it to allow it this season

Basically anyone other than lineman can have single digits.

New rules this year:

• Running backs, tight ends, fullbacks, H-backs, receivers: Nos. 1-49 and 80-89.
• Defensive backs: Nos. 1-49.
• Linebackers: Nos. 1-59 and 90-99.
• Offensive linemen: Nos. 50-79.
• Defensive linemen: Nos. 50-79 and 90-99.

I believe defensive linemen can where any number. We have quite a few DL with numbers outside that range (ex Pickering 22, Charlton 5)

World Champion Pile Jumper. He was always the last person on the scene and jumped on the pile like he was a part of the stop. I swear that dude would get blocked by slot WRs.
