These are valid points. Failure has happened on multiple levels.

Competing camps in FB. TO/Pelini vs. Perlman. TO frozen out on the AD hire, Eichorst brought in to can Pelini. Is TO still an active interested party (vs. just an interested party)? Are Riley and his staff on the way out and is this blow back for how Eichorst handled Pelini? This goes back to Pedey/Frank. Sipples goes in the way back machine.

IMO, firing SE is at least in part blow back for HP and how SE handled Pelini. The good news for people pissed about that is that HP and SE are gone. The good news for people who are pissed that SE got canned? I don't know of anybody all that invested in SE to care all that much that he is gone. IF a guy who no doubt has Tom's blessing will have input on the next AD and if that next AD decides to keep Riley or fire Riley, maybe we can look at it in a fresh perspective instead of one side against the other.

This has a goodfellas feel to it. Tommy got whacked and there wasn't much that could be done about it.

Doubtful. Only way this happens is if the act stops and TO goes public.
