I was informed via a private message that <span>Nils Wärmegård is missing in Europe. If you don't remember Nils, he was the circus performer that graced our presence a few months ago. Please remember him and hope that he is found alive.

You might already know this but I noticed you put that thread about the circus pole performer on sixpack remembers. I watched his video over again and apparently people are commenting saying rest in peace all over it. The guy went missing in France and is feared dead.

After all, if there were such an award he would have been the likely winner of the Nils Wärmegård Award for Best Thread of 2009.

<span><a href="http://www.thelocal.se/18396/20090323/">Swede in US school exchange nightmare
</a>
<span>Patrik Sundelin was looking forward to spending the 2006-2007 academic year in the United States on an EF Education- arranged programme.</span>

<span>Seventeen at the time, the enthusiastic teen hoped to try out for the American football team at Alma Bryant High School, located in the small town south of Mobile, Alabama.</span>

....

<span>"The first night they brought me into the kitchen to show me their knife collection. Then one started telling me the best ways to cut someone up with a knife," said Patrik.</span>

<span>"It was a surreal experience."</span>

<span>The following day, Patrik found himself taken on an even more bizarre first "field trip".</span>

<span>"They took me for a ride into town. We ended up at the courthouse so one of them could meet with her probation officer," he said.</span>

<span>"On the way there, she pointed out all the places where I could buy drugs, if I was interested in doing so."</span>

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And another story from the Swedish news:

Woman charged over seduction of pupil

Apparently the USA isn't the only place where teachers are seducing their students. But this exchange is pretty odd:

".....internet chat conversations that show the teacher asking the boy if he prefers "toilet sex or sofa sex".

WTF is toilet sex? Those Swedes are some crazy 17ers.

don't know about the swedish version, but the german one is a nice mix of actual news and amusing odds-and-ends.

Well I am no Interpol investigator, but if I was I would start with the damn Fire Spinners and Jugglers. Seems to me they might have a reason to off him.

instead of saying "Abandon all hope ye who cheer for the maroon and white" it should say "Nils Warmegard- We'll be seein' ya".

Some may remember, not long after SPS first got going, there was link on the top of the page titled "MSU Fight Song", which was actually an mp3 file of pipe organ circus music....(i.e our football program was a three ring circus). Good times...

you set up, I believe, as your friend in the band had told you we were getting a new fight song, and this was it. And the replies were pretty much divided between the friend shouldn't have said that or Gene have you heard about this?
