After watching the O Line and D Line videos does it seem that both lines are bigger and athletic in combination than the last couple of seasons?

Gates is bigger than Alex Lewis. DJ Foster is much bigger than Utter. Utter is smaller than Reeves. Farmer is bigger than Chongo but smaller than Sterup. David Knevel is bigger than every person on Earth except Rosie O'Donnell.
Freedom is an impressive physical specimen, and smaller than McMullen, but much more athletic. Mick Stoltenburg is much taller than Maliek, but not as athletic. Maurice is big, but not Vince Valentine big. He's a tad more athletic though. Dzuris is bigger than Gangwish, but a marginal athlete.
Backup Dline is much more athletic than Nebraska has seen in a while. Davis Triplets and Daishon Neal should all prove to be disruptive changes of pace.

Sorry, didn't mean to start something (and didn't see the reply from ThereIsNoPlace until I hit "Post Reply"). Your overall post was very good, just wanted to point out in case others didn't know that they weren't all related.
I hope so, but I also know he is going to get thrown under the bus as soon as fans start concluding we look 'overmatched' in games. Happens every time.
It hasn't really been a secret that Mike looks at measurables, much like the NFL does when he is recruiting. He def recruits size, and that's probably a good fit for the B1G. Defensively, I still like to see speed and athleticism first. But it's a good observation that you have noticed.
I did a quick avg height of the complete OL roster and it's 6' 4.84", so pretty close to a 6'5" average. Average weight was 298.68. There are guys that are much more knowledgeable about this, but 6'5" 300lbs seems pretty good size. Not sure what other teams field in this regard.
