I agree .... may light a fire under Richards, I like SKJ playing the middle better than Richards anyway.

I think SKJ is like Gabriel in that he works better off the bench. He can sub for multiple spots, and he has the maturity to bring toughness/focus off the bench. Richards might not be able to have that yet, freshmen often don't.

Basically, if SKJ is going to be a 7 no matter when he plays, you don't run the risk of Richards being a 3 off the bench when he can be a 9 as a starter. Then, if he's not, you go to SKJ to steady the ship.

It's what MKG saw in Darius Miller that caused him to go volunteer his spot.

It's quite amazing Cal's track record for this here.. He's like 0 for 17 on bigs that can avoid foul trouble. Wonder if there's something else to it..

Naaaahhh.. he should have just recruited Okafor. Talk about a big that was so excellent at never fouling..

Cal keeps starting the same players no matter what. Why does he start Diallo? Clearly he is focused on the long-term but that is not evidently working this season. Unfortunately, because all we have is close games, there doesn't even to be much experimenting with the line-ups. Vanderbilt is thrown in the mix but otherwise, we see pretty much the same mess. If he starts Richards (which he will as I just said in the first sentence) how about if he is playing well not substituting him at the 16 minute mark for no reason. This idea of resting players has accomplished nothing but watching us lose leads or fall way behind in the first half.

My only complaint with SKJ is he's on the soft side. Won't do well against any kind of rugged, physical team. Tonight might not be the best game to give him a start.....

to be fair, Richards has been playing better. Other than the times we go small, Richards and SKJ should split time.

Why not start Diallo at center. He can jump, I've been told. Maybe playing him close to the goal would increase his shooting percentage. Hee Haw. Had you didn't I.
