Biggest question … so when they go to Dunk a Head Coach with the Mayo, how many damn jars did they have to get to fill a bucket; do you add water, or just give them the full chunky?

I find mayo to be a integral part of any sandwich creation, and also, a vital part of summer tomato consumption, so, since we are going to the Duke's mayo bowl, it would seem a legitimate poll, and I would imagine some good answers since so many of y'all, including myself, have a BMI of over 20% (which I like to think simply means you enjoy life)

Recently, I have gone back to Blue Plate after 10 years with Duke's.....that said, I grew up on Hellman's.....but this past year, w/ home grown tomato's, I simply found that I prefer Blue Plate on a fresh cut tomato.

With the above stated, I am, for the time being, taking my household back to Duke's in support of our bowl invitation, and will hold Duke's, et.al. responsible for my future purchasing selections based on how we (STATE) is treated on our bowl experience.
Surely this board has rules against threatening posts. No mayo. Ever.

Grew up on Blue Plate. Still use Blue Plate and sometimes Bama. Hellmann will do in a pinch. Dukes is objectively twangy trash.

Truth.

Being a Southern Miss alum, Mustard is naturally my go-to condiment for sandwiches…

I also got food poisoning from some bad Mayo at Gooch’s Deli (at least that’s what I had heard it was) back when I was a grad student at State so I stay away from it when I can…

Nonsense. Dukes has the best twang of them all. The 8.99$ a jug price is a little daunting. But, some things you don’t compromise on:)
That's strange. Dukes in the Memphis Metro area seems to be one of the most affordable. Hellmans is the highest. Regardless, I prefer Dukes and not because we're going to their bowl.

Great Value Light, no sh-it, I don't taste a difference in them. Great Value $3.12, Hellman's $5.97, Blue Plate $4.98, Duke's $4.98 easy choice

Who remembers pear salads? A pear half out of a can with a dollop of mayo in the middle, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, and a cherry on top. I never understood this combination but there was a plate at every church pot luck and occasionally on moms dinner table.

I’m in the it doesn’t matter to me. Just don’t slather a bunch of it on my sandwich.

On the other hand. There’s only one mustard, French’s, and one Ketchup, Heinz. Everything else is trash.
Agree with you on the Mayo, maybe a slight difference but not enough to tell once on a sandwich.
Disagree on mustard, the least discernable of the condiments and anything goes.
100% agree on Ketchup, the most discernable of them all. While any will do in a pinch, you know when a restaurant has Sysco brand on the table, you're not going to get the Heinz experience. They could double the price and we'd still buy it.

Reminds me of “Old School “ when they were getting ready for the wrestling night.

Damn, you couldn't beat a turkey and cheese sammich with mayo from Gooch's. I would get that and a sunkist just about every night as a freshman on the way back to Sessums. Now that I think about it, maybe that's where that pesky freshman 25 came from. I thought it was beer the whole time.

The only way mayo is edible is too add ketchup to it and make it "special sauce". I can't eat it as a lone condiment.
Other than the word "only" I agree with you here. Mayo is delicious, but mayo + ketchup is something entirely different and special.

Especially on a corndog. That shiii is gooood.

"Light"??? Hell no, don't get light mayo. Regular mayo has the good kind of fat in it. At least that's what I heard one time a long time ago and that's good enough for me to never ask again.

After growing up on nasty Kraft, and having cook at fraternity house leave the mayonnaise on counter for 4 hours on burger day; I did away with Mayo for 15 or so years.

We are Blue Plate now and eat a lot of chicken/tuna salad sandwiches.

After “yellow” mayo experience in college I still can’t put any on a burger and put just a thin layer on sandwiches.

A quick check of Gemini AI tells me you are ignoring the differences in light and regular mayo but shouldn't be. A heart attack will make you think like me, I had a wake up call 12 years ago...................

I grew up in a low income household. My sister and I weren't allowed to drink a whole coke. We had to share a bottle of coke when we had coke. Mayonnaise was a staple so we ate a lot of it on sandwiches. We even ate Mayonnaise sandwiches and were happy with them. I don't remember the brands we had back then but it was probably the cheapest Mother could find. I found this debate interesting for this reason.

We had both Dukes and Blue Plate in our refrigerator so I decided to put them against each other with nothing to distract. I tried a small amount of each on the tip of a teaspoon. Both were good but I got a distinct cardboard taste from the Dukes. For that reason I like the BP better. BP has been our go to for many years. Dukes did have a stronger flavor which is probably due to them using oleoresin.

If you grew up pre Walmart grocery then most grocery stores generic brand was Best Choice. I’ve ate many a Best Choice Mayonnaise sammich’s. When you were feeling fancy you sprinkled imitation bacon bits on your mayonnaise sammich!

ok, this French's subject is another thread for another day......frankly, I made a mistake the other day and bought Heinz mustard, and I am so disappointed that I allowed that to happen. There is only one mustard, and it is French's
