“We had a very pointed and transparent conversation with the commissioner [last week] and he gave us his perspective that Mississippi State was deserving of a New Year’s Day bowl,” Gator Bowl committee chairman Stephen Tremel said. “So do we."
Not that the Gator would have necessarily taken anyone else even without Slive's help, but Slive definitely went to bat for us to keep us from going any lower than the Gator.

If he continues to help us out, I'll erase more check marks. But still, he will always be that little boy in the back of the room I'll always have to keep my eye on.

bamer?...

this was like when bill clinton signed off on welfare reform...he didn't want to sign it into law but he didn't have much of a choice based on the direction the political winds were blowing...

ESPN had a few straight forward remarks regarding our snubbing last year in hoops...(remember the gators?)

now the cam newton deal that has everybody scratching their heads....

if Tenn had gone to the gator and MSU to the MCB, can you imagine the fallout and bad pub piled on to what is already there?

I refuse to believe slive has had a change of heart towards MSU.. he will 17 us every chance he gets. he's shown it numerous times..... this was just not one of those opportunities .... the price on 17ing us this time was a little to steep to him... didn't want it on his resume...

oh, and what about all you geniuses that said strickland wouldn't/didn't have any say so? looks like he did... that is if the gator rep is telling the truth.... who knows...

Is will the Gator open up extra seating like they did last year....
Stadium only holds 77k but they had 84,129 for the gator bowl last year. They added around 6k temporary seats in a endzone.
