would go on probation on his watch, no matter how much he had to sweep under the rug. No telling how many bingo tickets he's received in his tenure. Hope he burns with Auburn and these NCAA clowns who are making a mockery of their rule book.

Lets see now, how many weeks ago was it that Slive told the media and the whole world, how MSU had screwed up by not going through the proper channels to report violations? Now that the NCAA has reported that Auburn and Miss State are in the clear and have done no wrong will we get an apology for anything?
We all know State did go through the proper channels and that Slive was only pissed because we ACTUALLY reported this to the proper entities.

Tehy would ahve hung us so far out, you'd have to send a search party to come find us.

that is the scary part for me. The NCAA and how it deals with issues depending on who teh school is. Their inconsistency is breathtaking.

He said he believes that TCU sitting in a clear cut No. 3 spot behind Auburn and Oregon right now is a big motivation for the NCAA coming out and saying everything is alright with Newton...for now.

They don't want the apple cart upset, and I'm sure the officials for the Auburn-SC and the Oregon-Oregon State games have been notified of how the games need to go.

I know the NCAA isn't the BCS, but I have a hard time believing the NCAA isn't interested in keeping the BCS happy. The BCS doesn't want something to happen with Cam right now, because vacation of wins, or at least a guaranteed loss to South Carolina if he didn't play, would be enough to get TCU in the title game.

I'm going to be pulling hard for South Carolina this weekend for multiple reasons: 1) I want to see Auburn go down. 2) It'll upset Arkansas fans, and they deserve to have bad things happen to them. 3) Slive will be pulling for Auburn. 4) I'm a playoff proponent, so I enjoy seeing the BCS ruined. I'm pulling for TCU to not only reach the title game but win it all.

The managers of the BCS are the conference commissioners, and the most powerful ones are the six AQ conferences. The ADs at schools also get huge bonuses for their teams going to bowl games. (That's a big reason the BCS even exists. Sure, there would be a bigger pie with a playoff, but they wouldn't get to hold the knife that cuts it.) The commissioners have a tremendous amount of power with the NCAA. So they definitely can scratch whichever back they want.

I guess what I'm saying is that it's not so much the NCAA keeping the BCS happy because the same people run both. It's really just the same people holding on the knife that cuts the pie.
