Last weekend I was with my wife driving the coast of Maine for a getaway. In the tiny harbor town of Rockland, Maine, a nice older guy approached me as a State fan- I was wearing an MSU hat.

Whats the most obscure place you've encountered a friendly bulldog?

I actually had this same experience this June in Maine! Was at the gym wearing a state shirt and a young man came up to me and said his gf was a state grad and he said that was the only maroon bulldogs he knew.

Out in the grass farm in far NE Colorado.

I meet them from time to time in store as they see the cowbell on the back counter.

Was on a cruise out of Galveston about 12 years ago and a family of at least 30-40 people (I think it was a destination wedding) started pouring out of the boat into Mexico all wearing their Mississippi State stuff. I got my picture with them (I was also wearing Mississippi State stuff) because it was so surreal.

2000. BYU vs MSU. Small sports bar in Missoula, MT. Figured I would be the only state fan interested in watching the game. Nope, One other guy was there. He had attended MSU and moved up/back? for work.

After seeing the other thread, maybe there are more fans in Montana than I realized.

Kauai, staying at a small condo with only 8 units and the older couple staying next to us both got their PhD's at state.

Saw a Filipino kid wearing a MSU hat on a remote Aleutian Island. When I started talking to him about it he looked at me like I was crazy. He didn't know anything about the school, said he saw the hat online and liked it. Weird encounter.

Jamestown settlement in Virginia, family decked out in State gear. Turned out they lived a few miles from me in Ms.

Furtherest away would be Hawaii around 15 years ago.
most recently it's Disney World last March. Any given day all or most major colleges can be/are represented, but fun because it was my 7and 10 year olds first real experience with it. One of not all four of us wore state gear each day and we averaged 5-6 Hai States! Each day in the park.

1. Met my friend Carl in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico when he "Hail Stated" me from down the street.
2. Barcelona: quick conversation with some young alums on the sidewalk near La Rambla.
3. Budapest: walking near the Danube. Heard a "Hail State!" and stopped to chat with the guy, who turned out to be an Alabama fan who lives in Columbus. I resisted the urge to push him into the river and got on with my day.

Was in Krakow, Poland a couple weeks ago in a State t-shirt. While walking to visit Oscar Schindler's factory, we passed a group of school kids doing the hold-the-rope-to-stay-together routine. Teacher bringing up the rear saw my shirt. "Mezzazeepee State!" We chatted for a few seconds as they passed by. Her father went to Delta State and she was born in Cleveland. Has lived in Poland most of her life.

Was picking some sand leeches off my leg after swimming in the ocean and I hear someone yell estado de granizo. He pointed at my MSU bathing suit and we had a good chuckle

Sitting in De-troit airport one night just before midnight at a TGI Fridays having a beer waiting on a delayed flight. I looked up and saw a guy walking by wearing a MSU cap, as was I. I hollered "how bout them dawgs. He turned to look at me and it was one of my old roommates from 1985 that had just landed. We sat and downed several hoppy beverages for old times sake. My flight never boarded and I was stuck in De-troit all night. I almost always wear a cap or shirt when traveling and always see someone that will comment on it.

In Nueschwanstein, Germany at mad Ludwig’s castle, the inspiration for Disneys Cinderella castle. Going up a winding narrow staircase and noticed the MSU logo on the guys backpack. Turns out he was from Vicksburg. We traded pleasantries and secret handshakes then disappeared from each others lives. Let me know which one of you this was circa 2013.

I was in Guyana South America in the middle of the amazon on a boat cruising down the Pomeroon River. I pulled up on the shore there was a small market (hut) there were selling wild birds. There was a couple in there and the man had a MSU hat on from Louisville Mississippi. I almost passed out!

Yes, not as far as some of you, but I saw a lot of them in Texas, around Austin and San Antonio, when I was still getting around town a lot.

Zhongshan City, China, not exactly a State fan, but he graduated from LSU. He said State was his second favorite SEC team because we hated the same team.
